I think this idea that Malik provides veteran leadership is overrated. Malik leadership did not stop himself from getting into fight with 10 Cent Nate in the showers. It also didn't stop Q and Marbury from going at it. At the end of the day if you can not produce on the court or have not had a history of producing on the court other players will not look up to you for leadership. To be honest I think the guy that really has leadership skills is Q.

I'd pay to see that one. Big ass naked Rose all over 10 cent little naked Nate in the shower?!?!? What the hell! Funny as hell!

Yeah, but he's always gone with injuries.

Thought: We have '0' leadership on this team. As a matter of fact, we never had it to begin with.

But if you said we had plenty of attitude, then I'd back you on that one 100%.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Malik does have veteran leadership, he also has the experience of playing on a championship team. Actually not just playing but being an active contributor to a great team. Malik is not the best talent on the floor but he is the most vocal. He could easily go back to SA or some other title contending team and be apart of their rotation. The fact is he comes in plays big in his minutes and is very efficient. For his size he is able to defend most 4s on the block and some 5s with some old Rick Mahorn moves. He is player molded from the types of Charles Oakley, Buck Williams, Jerome Kersey. He is a scrappy player that is all about the team. He wants to play, but in games where he doesn't get off the bench he is the first one celebrating, he is coaching everyone, instructing players like Lee and Curry what to do, telling Nate a few things. Quite frankly, the knicks need a guy like Malik, Malik doesn't need the knicks.

I'll give Isiah some credit if he can admit his mistake and get rid of Jerome. It should have happened a long time ago.

Malik was not able to guard his man for the last fews years as a Knick. Yes, he did pull the chair from his opponent 5 times a year but other than that he was a joke on defense. He was either too short or too slow to guard his opponent. When he was on the Spurs he was put in Pop's dog house after his first year winning a title.

The majority of complaints was exactly that. His defense.

Sorry Malik, you're a nice guy, but time to make room for those that can play.
See ya, and enjoy your $$$.

James should just be outright cut, and not paid.
Bastard hasn't shown up in shape to play YET.
Shouldn't that be a violation of his contract?

this is nothing more than a speculative bulletin board type post-

I think if Rose is released, its a favor to him to try to rejoin the spurs- either as a player or coach- and honestly, I would look to do this just to try to patch things up with popovich-

No he can't go back to the Spurs. Pop put him in his doghouse way before he became a Knick. Malik maybe friends with Parker but Pop is whole different story. As far as other teams, I don't see what Malik can bring to the table.

What counts is that Rose thinks of himself as quite the offensive player

Malik is the only player I have ever seen pump fake himself out of bounce.
