KNICKS ACQUIRE DRAFT RIGHTS TO JARED JORDAN

From MSG:

NEW YORK, September 30, 2007 – New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Isiah Thomas announced today that the draft rights to guard Jared Jordan have been acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for cash considerations. Jordan was originally selected by the Clippers in the second round (45th overall) of the 2007 NBA Draft.

Jordan, 6-2, 190-pounds, averaged 13.1 points and 6.9 assists in 117 career games (108 starts) at Marist College. The 22-year old, Hartford, CT-native averaged 17.2 points and 8.7 assists as a senior in 2006-07 and became the first player since Avery Johnson to lead the nation in assists in NCAA Division 1 play for two consecutive seasons.

As a member of the Clippers’ entry in the 2007 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Jordan averaged 4.2 points and 4.8 assists in five games (all starts).

Strengths: Outstanding ball-handler and passer ... Very consistant point guard who shows veteran leadership on the court ... Excellent on ball defender ... Good length ... Strong rebounder for a point guard ... Seems most comfortable when setting up his teammates ... Has shown the ability to drive to the hole ... Very good stamina, averaged 39 minutes per game as a junior ... Is a hustle player ... Aspires to be a coach, and shows great basketball IQ ... Very crafty player around the basket, both passing and shooting ... Soft touch around the basket ...

Weaknesses: Struggles when forced to carry team ... Not a great three point shooter ... Has a tendency to turn the ball over at times from trying to do too much at once ... Lacks experience playing against great competition in the MAAC conference ... Not very athletic or fast ... Could be overmatched in NBA by much quicker or stronger point guards ... Has an uphill climb to make it in the NBA athletically ...

Notes: Averaged 8.5 assists as a junior, leading the nation.

hopefully this is the end of Nate the Fool ... Knicks have enough offense and the only offense system is to dump it to the Randolph/Curry.

Knicks need more guys who use their basketball IQ to play the game instead of guys who use their athleticism to play the game.

I doubt they waste so much money by wasting HoBury. Now 3 guys have to be waived or traded to clear space. Prolly no Allan Houston.

With Jared on board I would not be surprised if Mardy gets traded. He is still suppose to be recovering from his injury. Dick ah u will be cut loose.

Do you guys realize Jared Jordan is now JJ3? Scary. Hopefully we will get rid of JJ1.
