This is for the moles reading here to gain pulse of the team and its fans. Pass it on to your boss.
Fire Isiah and get rid of Marbury. The rest of your team is pretty likable and the fans would get behind them.
Let Grunwald be the GM and let one of the assistants coach the team. or bring in an intense young (thobidou (how ever you spell it) like JVG was. No need to starphuch yet.
Then call up Stern and ask him to help you hire a Rod Thorn type guy who is rooted in the league. Take your time, just get it right. This is for your Knick president.
If he can't get you one then get on your hands and knees and bring back Checketts and promise you will disappear and let him run things. If Dave won't come back, call McInsey consulting and do a long search for a CEO type to bring dignitiy to the Garden. Mills is obviously done.
Grunwald can eventually be replaced by whom ever takes over. Glen is a decent guy. Not a savior, not jerry west, but he is here and respected. Some continuity is good for stability. Thats enough for now. Keep an eye on the Suhr, the fat man is trouble!
By doing so Dolan would be making some smart decisions and I could respect a man who knows when he is over his head. He could even take credit for the restructure. New York loves a comeback story and Dolan can give wonderful interviews in a few years respected for the turn around!
Knicks fans are also the very CEO's and executives that buy ad space, suites and expensive seats. They will be hard pressed to spend money on entertaining clients on this sleeze operation where money is squandered, women are treated badly, and losing is tolerated. Knicks fans can tolerate a lot but the fans demand respect from the organization, and want to respect the team they support both emotionally and finacially. Better not lose these guys cuz they won't stand for this sleeze job that is being run now.
White fans don't want to even feel that Isiah could even say such a thing. Given his track record with the CBA, and his harsh track record in NY, I very much believe he is mean spirited and is capable of saying a derogatory remark about the white fan base. The reason you maintain a professional resume is to build credibilty in the event you are wrongly accused. Thus, in this fans eyes Isiah loses credibility. Gotta go. Buh bye. Not even negotiable. Any white GM even capable of saying such a thing about blacks fans would be tossed if he had a rep like Isiahs!
Black fans who support black players (nothing wrong here folks, its the way it is!) want to be proud of who they support and Isiah and Dinglebury don't measure up. Black, white, asian, etc, all want to be proud of their role models. These two have bought shame upon themselves and the team. Its a shame even Starbury's can't balance what he now represents. The guy is a sham. Some never believed in the "movement". Style over substance is what Starburys have come to represent. Being a man is taking care of your family, being honest, being a truthful man in your house, in your marriage. Being a role model who cheats on his wife and takes his pleasures is not cool in my book. His testimony is very damaging. What is the message we tell our youth? Our women? Think all those moms are a bit put off that he calls his wife a "Ho" and coworkers "Bitches"?? This is what we are teaching our young men to act like? And that its ok for our daughters to accept?
In knick history, players were loved not because of race but because they were our guys and they played hard. LJ and Ewing had some minor off court discretions but they were our guys because they were warriors and earned our respect. The knick Icons of Clyde, Willis and Bernard were not without faults but they were professionals who earned deep respect and every benefit of the doubt by building character. Bernard was a misfit in college and had some problems his first few years. He grew up and became a disciplined professional. Even Willis who did not succeed as a coach or GM was always respected for his achievements and the way he carried himself.
The Nets are moving into town and MSG you are doing eveything possible to drive fans toward them.
The Knicks classic white uniforms were always a symbol for NY basketball. They represented a clean steady image that while the team was not always the best, the team thru the decades said one thing on the uniforms (except those stupid 80's version): NEW YORK
Get it, not "Knicks" but NEW YORK. This was manhatten, the center of the financial world, the entertainment world, the fashion world, the greatest city in the world! New York is the countries first city and is the blueprint for the country! When they line up in thier home whites it was magical!
Dolan, make us proud again! No more "Starphuching", no more sleeze either on the court or off, no more surley players, no more dancers for you to get clammy over, no more treating employees like dirt, no more quick fixes! Get this thing right, then draw up new plans for a new garden and let us be proud of NEW YORK!
