I find it hard to believe that a situation of this magnitude can just fall off the face of the earth.

The league chose former federal prosecutor Lawrence B. Pedowitz to oversee a review of its policies regarding gambling and its referees in the wake of the Tim Donaghy scandal.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'm pretty sure the NBA is doing it's best to suppress it. It hasn't gone away. Similar to what we should have done with the Anucha law suit

David Stern told Dolan he needed to have the betting thing go away, so MSG went to trial.

Add in OJ and Mike Vick, it's not hard to see why it sort of "disappeared"

However, it will be remembered on the first questionable call.

I think the ref betting scandle should be the top story still.

Mike vick dog fighting? Ok he isn't betting or possibly throwing games for organized crime.

Msg sex harassment has been a joke. The alligations are just as stupid as marbury. Its a really stupid story. Its a joke. But no, its basically a big topic in the media.

Again, throwing games? Betting on games by a ref? Come on man that is enough to cripple a league. I guess it will pick up again once the season starts, but it will probably be Clyde mentioning it and the breen bitch slapping him in the name of dick bavetta. Otherwise it will just be whispers.

You may or may not be aware of what's been going on in Manhattan, what with the intense concentration needed to monitor both L'Affaire Belichick and the erosion of the Red Sox' bullpen (not to say the lead over the Yankees). There is a fascinating trial taking place that, regardless of its outcome, already has done enormous damage to the image of the Knicks.

This is an excerpt from the Boston Globe. When you say media you mean the NY media. It's a big story right now in NY because it's NY. After the trial noone in America will be talking about it and they will move on to the next scandal. When the Vick sentencing goes down that will be a big deal. If Donaghy comes up with juicy stuff than that will be a big deal. The Knicks are not being treated unfairly in the coverage. They are just the story of the moment.

In Boston all they talk about is Bellichick and the Redsox. They are treating the Redsox fade like it is more important than the War in Iraq. The Knicks are an afterthought. That is the nature of sports coverage. You cover what is important to your readers. Just because it's not being covered in NY does not mean it's not being covered. Here in Boston this trial is meaningless.
