Dolan in the 1990's had the clean cut Utah young Dave Checketts running MSG and succeeding wildly! THe directive to keep it with men of character and it payed off. Even with the inept hiring of Layden the team was mature and worked hard. The team eventually ran off Spreewell as he did not conform with the uptight men of character directive the team was on.
Dolan, hires Steve Mills whom is obviously over his head from day one as he is mearly a figurehead for Dolan. Ok, I understand removing Layden as the garden was out of juice but bringing in the Snake and giving him a crazy budget and making Marbury the face of the organization, a man of little character was over the top.
The existance of this suit shows moral character has been thrown out the window and instead we are left with a paranoid media game and illogical hirings and buyouts.
The Yankees over the years have produced some interesting stories but if your successful most of it is just an interest story. MSG in the last 7 or so years has been losing story that money can't fix. It just seems to make it worse.
Dolan is a problem. He needs to be convinced to step away and let someone intellgent run the place. Imagine being able to throw gobs of money at somthing but with purpose?
I think if you go back and read about Isiah's CBA experience and then him as the Knick President can one even be suprised at the crap we are reading about?
Remember we read about Isiah teaching young players to be proud to play for NY, proud to be an NBA player and be respectful?
Time and time again his mouth opens and what he said was empty. Making Marbury the face of the organization is grounds for dismissal in my view. One massive mistake after another.
Our roster is pretty full of talent and its just crazy looking at the names that we can't even be confident we are a .500 team!
