Basically this is just a rant why Barry Bonds should not be picked on. Every single day we are hearing about new cases of players involved directly with HGH/steroids. I take it as a product of our time which was NOT outlawed[i mean hgh] in baseball until 2005. There is no evidence at all that Barry Bonds has taken any HGH since 2005 or that he directly ever injected/absorbed steroids. Do we know for a fact that Henry Aaron or Babe Ruth didnt take some ind of performance enhancing drug whther that be an UPPER or stimulant that helped the players? No My gosh every record in pro football--heck the league itself would not exsist if we went on a witch hunt for these substances. I consider Barry Bonds the home run champ without question[although a-rod my have something to say about that if he doesnt get hurt]

sorry briggs but bonds is a big name and not well liked. of course he's going to get targetted and picked on.

this is america, the land where they build you up and tear you down. the key to NOT being picked on is being a nice guy and saying the right things. otherwise, it's open season.

This attitude displays a complete lack of respect for the athlete who DID NOT take any performance enhancing chemicals. Shouldn't we as fans have greater respect for the players who play clean? And show them that respect by dis-respecting those who cheat the game.

Lol.

Babe Ruth is an "American icon" he was a fat, drunk bastard. He may have been a decent man but nobody can tell me he didn't take steroids. He was an old white woman before he died. He had all the side effects of steroids including breasts hanging to his knees.

Steroids were just being developed back then and were extreamly dangerous. Who is to say this guy didn't allow himself to be a guinea pig?

Yeah Barry did steroids. So did mark mcguire. So did everyone for that matter or so it seems.

I think its a corny debate now. "steroid era"? Steroids are nothing new. What the guys were or are taking now are new undetectable stuff.

Do you know how hard it is to get through 4 regular half court games of basketball? Try 82 48 minute games. Baseball has 1,000 games to play with basically no days off. Guys are gonna take whatever they can get away with to get by.

Old bastards take Viagra to keep up with the young chics after things don't work like they used to.

People will do anything if they can to get what they want.

Paul O'Neill is a Yankee icon... Don Mattingly is a Yankee Icon... why does everyone always bring up Babe Ruth?

Why should any known cheater be let off the hook? Especially one who wants to be judged by numbers he only put up through use of illegal performance enhancing drugs?

Wow I was watching the MTV awards and I think some HGH has found it\'s way into the possession of Dr Dre. Either that or he\'s got Popeye\'s special spinach plants.

Come on man.
Look at the conditioning of baseball players.
They will not survive 3 min of basketball.
Most of the game they just standing around or sitting on the bench.
I think the only sport which is less athletic is Golf and may be Poker.
But the mental energy you lose in Poker much bigger that all energy baseball players have.
I can understand steroids in basketball, hockey, and football. But baseball... come on.

Steriods can kill you. HGH can actually help you. If everyone in sports used HGH, injuries would be way down.
