NY Receives:
Kevin Garnett
26th pick

Minnesota Receives:
Latrel Sprewell
Kurt Thomas
Michael Doleac
Charlie Ward
9th pick
Their Choice between Milos Vujanic, Frederic Weiss, additional second round pick or picks/ or all of the above

Why both teams do this:
The knicks desperately need a star and should do anything to get Garnett. A tandem of Garnett and Houston should keep the knicks competitive until they can add a few more players to their roster. With the 26th pick the knicks should look to add someone like Brian Cook, or Nick Collison and fill holes with their second round picks or possibly look for future stars in the highschool ranks.

The wolves need a complete team. Sprewell and Thomas would immediately be starters for the wolves while Doleac and Ward would be nice veterans to add to the mix. For this trade to work for them they must resign Rasho who is their only legitmate center. With the ninth pick the wolves would need to add a star for the future.

Possible line-up
C- FA pick up
PF- Kevin Garnett
SF- Shandan Anderson
SG- Allan Houston
PG- Frank Williams

Bench:
Collison
Othella
Clarence
Eisley
Postel
Second round picks

Wolves
C Rasho
PF Kurt Thomas
SF Wally Szcerbiak
SG Latrell Sprewell
PG Troy Hudson

Don't think the Wolves would do this without getting an All-Star in return....make that a young perennial all-star in return.

McHale would have to visit NY to get some of that good crack to smoke before he'd cut his team's throat like that.

If Scott LayDown was GM over there, I could see them taking that deal, though.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

With all the cap room that the SPURS have, I would sign KG out right !!! Convince him to play with DUNCAN for the next 10yrs !!!

Then you run the risk of losing players like Ginobili and Parker when their contract years come up. SA is another small market team which would have the same troubles as Minn. I think the Spurs would be better off trying for Jermaine O'neil he will come a lot cheaper than KG and they would have room to make offers to Gino and Parker when they are ready to sign their big contracts.

VMART i hear ya. I don't think GINO & PARKER will be looking for $70mil...... $35mil each & they would be ok by signing some fillers to play their roles. I just like the idea of DUNCAN in the post, KG midrange & any spot up shooter !!!

You never know what they will be looking for in the future. Parker is only 21 years old and he is a pretty good pg. Ginobili is only a rookie and only getting better he may become a 20 points per game guy in the future. same with Parker. At that time they won't be looking for 35 mill and be happy with that if they continue to get better they are going to demand more money that is the nature of the business. That would be nasty though to put KG with Duncan.

You think their agents will go for that. These guys are in it to max their profits to sign now is giving up money in the future. If Parker and Ginobili average anywhere over 15 points a game and increase it by their third year to 20 the next word out of their mouth is going to be contract extension and Max.

I have a gut feeling that KG is headed to sacramento for CWeb and some other throw in players. That deal would work for both teams who do you guys think would get the better of that deal. Kings or T-wolve or is it even.
