Knick fans you can forget about Rasheed Wallace, he is too valuable to trade. I think the Knicks can still improve their squad by trading with Portland. Derek Anderson has given them life and they probably like combo of Wells, Anderson, and Wallace. I think everybody else is fair game. Knicks should trade:

Dale Davis and Damon Stoudamire
for
Kurt Thomas + Othella Harrington + Charlie Ward + 1st round pick

good for us:
It gives us a good center and a good STARING POINT

good for them:
Unselfish point to dish to DA. Another PF in case Kemp doesnt come back. Kurt 6th

You know I would probably do that if I were running the Knicks. I think the Blazers would only give up Damon if they knew that Rod Strickland was going to return to the team. Having only Ward and an unexperienced Eric Barkley at the point (now that Greg Anthony was shipped) is not a good for a team trying to go far in the playoffs.

I like the trade but don't think the salaries are even close to matching up. It seems to me that the Knicks 2 biggest needs are 1: a big man that can clog the middle and grad some rebounds (ok, Camby gets those tip rebounds and can sky, but we need to have a player that can clean glass with some muscle) and 2: a point guard who can break opponents off the dribble, something both Charlie and Jackson can't do. Heck, I'd settle for a Othella + Thomas + cap fodder for Davis. Portland would get 2 big bodies, 6 more fouls and 2 younger guys; Knicks get a much bigger body.

i like the idea of getting damon stoudamire, but i do not like the idea of losing both o harrington AND thomas. we need one to keep on the bench just in case. maybe we have to give up both to get dale davis, but i seroiusly doubt we should be giving up a pick for an older davis when were shipping off two young guys. dale davis can dramatically improve our team when teamed up with camby in the frontline, but how long will he last? i say either kurt thomas, muggsy, and draft picks straight up for davis. muggsy is useless but only is 1.3 mil, whcih means cap filler

I don't know why Portland would do this though. I'd rather have Davis banging with the big guys out west than KT. I'd think they would want more big men (more fouls) in exchange.

i understand where ur coming from, but i hear portlands big problem is that dale davis is complaining about minutes and the fact that he HAS to guard shaq at least 4 times during the season and the other big men in the west. dale davis is taking his aggression into the lockeroom and is contributing to team disunity. this is a very hard thing to conceive of because we dont know the mentality of the management of both teams. does portland really want to unload davis, or are they jus putting him up to see what they can get, and then jus keep him anyway. either way i think if we give up 2 pfs for davis, portlands jus gonna have even more of a glut problem with people not getting enough minutes. getting dale davis and a decent point guard is a priority still. camby and davis are both almost 6'11'', they will tear open the east as pf/c.
