Mardy causes he's the Prince of the City. Also cause he showed great flashes last season.

Until I see something to make me think otherwise, I think Mardy has the best overall game at PG. Yeah he needs to improve his shooting, but that is something he can work on. In terms of his being able to run the plays and get everyone setup, I think he can do that. He's got a long way to go, but he's already shown a lot for such a short amount of playing time. The guy was a PG in college and he was solid at the point for us when he got a chance. He defended his butt off and is a good rebounder to boot. He's surprisingly faster than he looks. He knows how to use his body against smaller guards. His being taller helps a bit with the post feeds and with getting the ball back out of the post. Man, I just like him and I hope he's given a fair shot and succeeds

Mardy.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Crawford. It will make him shoot less. He has a good handle and a good passer. Though his defense sucks. But Mardy's not ready.

Or David Lee. Cuz he's the best player on the team. He could post up smaller point guards.

Nobody, not even probably Mardy, can be trusted to be the starting true point guard. We need one bad. 2 drafts in a row, we passed on our PG of the future in Williams and our SG of the future in Almond. Nice going Isiah.

this could be a huge bruising team if Mardy was at point and Q was at the 2.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Jamal with Mardy coming in quickly on a regular basis. Even though Jamal is not our best long term option it puts too much pressure on Mardy opening day - much better to have Jamal start, get his feeds to Eddy, etc w Q at the 2 and Balk at the three, and then bring in Mardy w D Lee for a strong young bench.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

I don't know. I liked how Mardy has looked at the point even better than Jamal. I don't really think the pressure thing is likely to be an issue. He can't get any more pressure than the spot he was in last year with our slim playoff hopes still alive. I think Mardy handled it very well. He had some initial jitters, but then he came on and did a good job for a rook who didn't really get much PT all year.

It's a tough question. I feel with two post up players we need a true PG. In terms of "true PG" I think Mardy comes the closest. He provides the defense, he's a good post passer, runs the offense and plays every aspect of the game. I also agree with John Wallace44 that with him in the rotation, Q at the 4 and let's say Renaldo at the 3 and we have a physically tough line-up.

There is one big problem with Mardy at the one. With no other real shooters on the team his jumpshooting becomes a liability. He doesn't alleviate the double teams and will be left open. Team swill dare Mardy to beat them. So to beat this weakness we will be forced to bring Jamal into the game anyway. Then you start Jamal and he plays no D and isn't the best distributor in the game. IT's a tough decision.
I just hope that people will like me

We just have to hope that Mardy does a Tony Parker and makes his weakness a strength. IMO he just needs to smoothout his stroke and get rid of the hitch. Lee has done a good job of getting rid of his and with more time and practice he should be able to overcome it.
