Nellie's move on Bruce Bowen was "WAS EPIC" LAST NIGHT. This is the guy who wasn't afraid to tell Ewing the offense won't go thru you because you can't pass that well out of the double team. Don Nelson grew a Sac a while ago and other fans thought he was crazy. Dude is not afraid to experiment (no fear of losing his job) The bottom line is Nelson knows talent and has creactivity that is unmatched in the NBA and has a son who following right in his shoes (evaluating talent). By fouling Bowen in 1st half he froze the momenteum of the game, the fans and all the other spurs. Don's mavs coming back after being down by 18 pts was "CLASSIC

Any of us could be a "good" coach with Dirk, Nash, NVE and Finley... then LaFrentz, Bell, Medera, Williams and Bradley.

p.s. read in the Post, Cuban wanted to fire Nellie's azz and bring in Riley. lol

ARES has to be ice! Ah lets see how foolish cuban would have been by the end of this series by letting nellie go bye bye. K-9 it did make a difference by letting bowen go to the foul line. It's called psychology 101 it was on their minds, that was the whole nature of fouling bowen . The entire team moral was bent on pumping up bowen to hit free throws, because the team thought it would last the whole game. NELLIE WAS A "GENIUS"

I told you guy I like indiana in the east and Dallas in the west earlier this yr. BUT YA'LL DON'T HEAR ME DOE

I'd want to fire my coach too if he let a 3-0 lead slip away. But he didn't.

And playa is totally right. Don Nelson was brilliant. The Spurs were completely demoralized after that tactic. Say what you will about his track record, but the man knows how to coach.

Think about Nellie how you want, but you got to admit, that he's great at scouting and developing talent! Or was anybody not surprised when he picked a german guy out of the second german league and proclaim him a future all-star!!!

Don't forget this little beauty:

See who the Knicks picked: Donnell Harvey at 22 in the first round, traded, along with John Wallace, to Dallas for Erick Strickland and draft rights to Pete Mickeal:

http://espn.go.com/nba/draft00/rounds/round1.html

See who Houston picked, and traded, along with a future second-round draft pick, to Dallas for Dan Langhi. Yup, Eduardo Najera.

http://espn.go.com/nba/draft00/rounds/round2.html

So, Dallas ends up with Harvey and Najera. Harvey gets shipped out eventually, but Najera is an occasional starter, and a solid player for Dallas, the guy who has to do the "little things".

What did the Knicks get? Erick Strickland and draft rights to Pete Mickeal. And we had the higher pick to start. Strickland, not a bad guy to have on your bench, never got to play behind the 15 guards in the Knicks rotation. He gets sent out, goes to Boston and helps them get to the ECF.

Mickeal? Grade-A summer league ground chuck.

Nellie has his personality issues with players, but he's put together a really crazy-to-watch team in Dallas. If you like scoring, it's all about Dallas.

Funny some question Don Nelson about winning it all. Why don't we say the same about Adelman (sent packing), Larry Brown(Got bounced again),George Karl( if we can only play defense)ETC.....

Yeah some one has Ice, I'm now Ares. I'm not attacking your post, I'm going at your post about NELLIE. the tactic didn't win the game, that was way in the second quater the spurs built a 28 point lead int the thiord quater. spurs missed freethrows about 16 most of them in the fourth. bottom line.

ares-ice, the tactic stayed on their minds the whole game that was the point. Nellie did it early enough that they thought he would use it all game and they put all the players on pins and needles. Case in point spurs choking at the end of game.(too much on their mind)

Playa... jump shooting team Dallas, spent the entire evening at the line making 44 straight free throws, like Ares said, Spurs missed a ton of their foul shots... and Tim Duncan couldn't play defense for the last six minutes due to having five fouls... that's why the SPurs lost game one... nothing more, nothing less.

Nelson a genius... PULL-EASE!!
