What are your expectations of each player on this team? Who do you think will have a good season? Also what players do you think will be stinking up the place like hot trash in the summer?

Marbury
Jamal
Q
Zach
Curry
Lee
Balkman
Nate
Chandler
Morris
James
Rose
Jeffries
Nichols

Will these two be packing their bags for a trip to JFK Airport?
Jones
Dickau

Curry, Zach, Lee, Craw all play near all star ball. Marbury finally on a woinning team. Isiah is a coach of the year candidate. We are a factor in the playoffs. No first round exit

My prediction is as follows...
Marbury - plays similar to last year, showing some veteran poise
Jamal - improves and plays more under control, not consistent but more like how he played under Larry Brown
Q's - back surgery fixes problem and he plays 70+ games - shoots, rebounds and defends well. Is included in deadline trade though...
Zach - plays well and behaves, although his defense remains questionable at best
Curry - goes for 22 and 8, almost 1 block per game
Lee - struggles with reduced minutes at 4, struggles when trying to play the 3, injured again, moved at trade deadline...
Balkman - still struggles with outside shooting but slightly improves overall numbers from last year
Nate - starts season on bench (behind Collins) but takes over backup point duties mid-season and pushes Marbury for starter's minutes
Chandler - rides the pine, shows a few flashes but does not play much at all
Morris - struggles and plays less than 10 minutes per game b/c he commits lots of turnovers
James - does nothing (as usual)
Collins - solid, but gets replaced mid-season due to Nate's improvment. moved at trading deadline...
Rose - plays reduced mintues, is traded at deadline deal...
Jeffries - plays much better than last year, but still struggles with consistency and outside shooting
Nichols - plays big minutes on a few occasions, shows his outside shooting, but rookie struggles result in numerous DNPs

Team - hovers just under 500 due to interior defense and lack of shotblocking until trade deadline - when IT finally realizes that you can't have 2 burger boys only play offense. Due to lack of interest in Curry (no D), Zack (bad contract) - Lee is moved (along with QRich, Rose, Collins & 1st rounder) for defensive-oriented 4-5 that plays defense. Regardless of some team improvement (after trade), IT is let go at conclusion of season for overall record 40-42. IT tries to maintain improvement from last season, but Dolan finally looks at overall record improvment since IT first started and concludes that while "we're younger and more talented...we still suck, our record proves it, and I have to pay all this additional money!"

Marbury - Continues where he left off. Numbers will be better because he doesn't have such a slow start.
Jamal - Same old Jamal
Q - Career year due to improved health
Zach - Typical Zach year
Curry - Reports in better shape, Has a better all around game
Lee - Continues excellent rebounding, still has problems on d, he starts to hit a mid range jumper
Balkman - Gets moved ahead of Jeffries in the rotation. Pretty much the same as last season, but gets noticed because of increased minutes
Nate - Reverts to old form, playing a little out of control
Chandler - Looks good in limited opportunity
Morris - Limited minutes - probably traded
James - Ugggh.
Rose - Waiting to retire
Jeffries - Minutes decline, plays a little better
Nichols - Looks good in limited opportunity
nixluva

Marbury - play well from the start and last longer this season, due to reduced minutes
Jamal - Improve his shooting % - Drive and Dish more
Q - Trims down and plays more games
Zach - Has a solid 1st year and becomes a fan favorite
Curry - Continues to grow, passes more and becomes more dominant
Lee - Shows a better midrange jumper
Balkman - Keeps up his beastlike ways, still shaky shooting, but better
Nate - Grows as a PG and has some important performances
Chandler - Get's some burn and shows promise
Morris - Get's very little burn
James - SIgns a deal with Krispy Kreme, then get's cut
Rose - good coach - gets traded.
Jeffries - Gets traded
Nichols - Has a few promising performances in limited minutes.

Will these two be packing their bags for a trip to JFK Airport?
Jones - traded
Dickau - traded

I expect Eddy to be out of shape, I expect us to wonder why guys that play hard on BOTH ends of the court dont get more burn, I expect poor defense and poor chemistry between our guards who love to shoot and our bigs who need the ball in their hands to have any impact.

Essentially I expect more of the same.

Hope I am wrong though.. (there's always hope)

Oh.. and big game?

I expect

- Isiah to pull the trigger on two more deals that a contingent of people hate, again

- Curry, Zach and Lee to provide more versatility up front than last season.

- Mardy Collins to be wearing practice shorts and not the jean shorts he had in Vegas

- Demetris Nichols to get a long look at two guard

- Randolph Morris to make someone say, "hey, this guy doesn't suck that bad"

My prediction is as follows...
Marbury - comes out of shape, get early injury, play sporadically, slowly disappearing from NY fans display, making more dumb statement and crazy show-ups on TV
Jamal - plays more under control, more assists less scoring, bad defense as usual
Q's - 40-50 games, back pain, looking at retirement
Zach - a couple of suspensions but nothing serious, less touches, less points and rebounds, benched couple of times for not coming back to defend
Curry - less touches, less points and rebounds, get frustrated without getting the ball and commit more offensive fouls, fouled out on some occasions
Lee - less minutes, less points, good rebounding, better shooting and defense, get traded
Balkman - same hustle, slow progress with the shot, getting injured with couple of minor things, traded
Nate - traded before the season, plays great for other team in pure SG position from the bench
Chandler - plays in 20-30 games and in junk time, plays OK with usual first year mistakes
Morris - Played solid 4 minutes per game, Butler style
James - Always smiles
Collins - solid but boring, possibly moved
Rose - get into conflict with Zack and traded or released
Jeffries - sucks big time, possibly traded
Nichols - plays big minutes in Europe
Team - 33-35 wins, no playoff, IT making some trades to mess things out and continue flawlessly to next year of Dolan money sucking. Rangers play great, possibly make finals and Dolan doesn’t care about Knicks at all

I expect when we are below .500 after our first month for misterearl, nixluva and rvhoss to have some really good excuses why.

That first month is a killer. If the Knicks are right there at .500 or slightly below that is huge improvement because it will have meant that they beat some quality teams.

Plus we have a new player who will be a big part of the offense. It might take a few to work out but I think the team will be right around .500 depending on the schedule.

I honestly don't know what to expect. Zach Randolph could make a big difference if he doesn't blow his knee out again.

It could be the best season of basketball we've had in some time, or it could be horrendous.

In any event, hopefully there will at least be good stuff on the soap-opera side. I definitely want to hear more classic quotes from Marbury, and I want to see how the whole Anucha thing plays out.

Should be interesting.

C'mon fishmike - even a novice fan would not expect this new mix to jell instantly. Of COURSE the Knicks will start slowly. That does not mean they won't be trying however, it's going to take a couple of months for the new roles to translate into consistent winning basketball.

I expect the certified bandwagon chicken littles to be screaming their puny, tender heads off in November and December, pleading for more Real GM-inspired fantasy changes, as they will insist "the sky is falling!"

You can take that to the bank

Basketballjones - if all else fails Anucha-Gate is an instant soap opera if things get too dull at MSG.

Isiah is found guilty of harassment, resigns as President and Head Coach as Mark Aguirre is appointed by Dolan.

Herb Williams resigns in a huff and joins Patrick Ewing and David Wingate in the new NBA Seniors League alongside Allan Houston. John Starks and Larry Johnson round out the core of the Old School Knicks, who become the media darlings of the city.

Dolan is implicated in a cable industry price-fixing scandal

Bill Bradley buys the franchise and appoints Spike Lee General Manager, who promptly hires Mark Jackson as the next Head Coach after appearing on the David Letterman Show.

Wilson Chandler goes for 25 and 12 in a March game in Atlanta
