We lost out on KG, but JO's still out there guys.

A couple things to consider:

1st.) I love this guy; he's a hard worker, and a legit top 5 at his position. He's as close to being a real franchise player without being a superstar...

2nd.) He and Isiah are CLOSE. Isiah has one good trait, and that's getting buddy-buddy with the talent.

3rd.) And this makes it realistic for us, is that Los Angeles doesn't want to give up the asking price for O'Neal, and the Nets haven't accepted the offer of Williams, Krystic, and Jefferson for him (I don't blame them, they'd be left like the Celtics with no bench).

The Knicks on the other hand, have lots of pieces to offer.

* Zach is from Indiana, so there might be a connection there. Or Curry on the other hand, is a true Center, and only 24, which would give the Pacers a few years to rebuild...

PLUS we have expirings, plus extra pieces we don't even really need, like Balkman and Nate.

What do you guys think?

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

No NO NO NO NO! Will not make a difference for the knicks. Over the last 3 yrs, he's been hit with the injury bug. I never thought he was someone that can take a team to that next level.

He's now being known for being a complainer. Always got something to say whether it's about a teammate, the organization or his personal life.

Not a good idea obtaining JO. NO NO NO NO NO!

Dude, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but this so called "complainer" is like a 6-time All-Star, a top defender in the league at his position, still only around 28 years old, and he's been injured because the Pacers made him play down low too much, plus he gained all that weight last year.

It's not like the Knicks are headed anywhere glorious without him...

It is no question JO is better that Eddy and Zack
He just way better all around player and character
He is also much more usefull to us that any of this 2
The problem is (for the reasons above) we have nothing to beat other teams offers, Bird will never do this favor to Isiah, and Indiana will NEVER trade JO to the Eastern team.

So stop dreaming man... Actually you can continue.

^ If Indiana isn't planning on keeping him in the conference then why the Jersey rumors?

Hell even one of the Pacer beat writers on RGM thinks a trade to NJ would be good.

Besides, who in the Western conference beside LA is gonna trade for JO? The west is already stacked with PF's...

I agree, it's probly a dream though, but if it was me I'd throw the boat at JO. I'd even give up Lee AND Zach or Curry.

I like JO's game, but at this point Zach, Curry and Lee is a strong frontcourt. The only thing we're missing is the help defensive presence that JO would bring. I think this Frontcourt crew is set and we don't need to look for any older beat up vets. Our group is young, strong and dominant. When we put Zach, Lee and Balkman on the floor, how many teams are likely to outrebound us? They're not going to be able to stop us either. As a whole we're going to POUND teams with our board work and strength attacking the basket.
JO would fit right in, but at this point I don't see a trade happening. The only thing JO does better is help defend.

>>He and Isiah are CLOSE. Isiah has one good trait, and that's getting buddy-buddy with the talent

What bobs meant to say was: Isiah not only has a history of drafting superior talent, he has the rare ability to gain their trust and nurture their development as athletes and productive citizens. Few of Isiah's players have ever been involved in any off-court issues where they were at fault. He has a keen eye for character.

JO will never happen for the reasons stated by arkrud

JO is better than any of our front court players, but Isaiah is putting together young talent at this point - not going for it now. I'd like to have the player, but I can see the rationale for taking the long view, until we actually make the playoffs - then going for that special player that will make us a contender.

honestly, he'll fit better with NJ and will have a better chance coming out of the east as oppose to going to NYKnicks. Why, cause of Kidd who will take JO's game to the next level.

Giving up RJ, Collins and Krstic might be too much for a player who's been in the league for 10 yrs now but im sure if it does happen, NJ can fill in the bench with role players out there.

I think Jermaine is a better all-around player than both Curry and Zach and would take him over both of them simply because of his committment to the defensive end. He also hasn't even turned 29 yet, so age is not a factor. He is still in his prime and ready to play well for the next 5 years. The only negative with Jermaine is the injury bug. Is that worth the risk? I'd say at this point for us, no. I'd rather we let the young guys develop and phase out the old, injured or lazy.
