Seems pretty clear a majority of knick fans are willing to replace Scott Layden regardless of the support Dolan extends to Scott. Fans major complaints are Cap Issues and free agent selections over the past couple of years.

By comparison MJ shows profit $30 mil+ with Wizards during his tenure and is shown the door with a quickness.

Who would replace Scott with the balance of fan approval while satisfying ownership

... would this be Bobby D? If so, good to see you, man.

As far as your thread, it doesn't matter because as you say, Dolan thinks Lyaden's doing a fine job.

good to see you on the board my youth!

I agree with Pike....Layden ain't going anywhere...

Just like the Rangers...Dolan wants a family atmosphere and he must like Layden on a personal level.

Although I agree with the above comments that it's really Dolan we should be worried about, who knows what "great plans" Layden had but didn't get approval for Dolan?

uhm, yeah right like trading for Deke...

I'll admit I couldn't write that with a straight face

Seriously though, a GM that could turn it around for the knicks, here's my list

Bill Bradley, $Bill is loved by most knicks fans but I don't know where his poltical career is going but he could steer this thing around. Smart guy who if he'd come here could use his basketball knowledge to steer this thing around. He wouldn't be a fall guy like Layden, if he comes here he must be allowed to do the job to his liking, like the guys below as well.

Donnie Walsh, not a chance we'll get him as Indy has extended his contract but you must admit he did a wonderful job rebuilding that crew while staying in the playoffs.

Gabriel, the magic's GM is not afraid of risk and has made some very good movies and some lousy but who knew GHill was done and BWallace would be that dominant?

All in all we would need a basketball sound lpayer, not a corporate suit who got the job via his daddy. Now I know Magic was a lousy coach but as a GM who knows? Or Kareem Abdul Jabbar perhaps?

Bobby sometimes clones forget this is a business first(before they speak) for the players and management.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Back to business...
Good post Knicksbabyyeah...def feel Gabriel and Walsh are excellent GM....Don't feel Magic would be a good GM though...wouldn't mind seeing how Kareem would do.

I'm not too sure about Magic either, but he is VERY succesful in all his business operations, knows basketball and said (don't whether it's true) he is one of the main recruiters that got Shaq to LA.

With regards to Gabriel, I read he's in the last year of his GM deal, I just hope he doesn't sign any extension.

Hmm...Bradley is an interesting choice...

must ponder that one...But what if politics is his real passion...?

Bill clinton, on the other hand, is built for the world of pro sports. And he's in NYC now-
