David Lee a closet superstar?

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

i'll give up anything & everything it takes to get Kobe here to NY... you rarely if ever have a shot at a talent like that... IF there is a shot (& i can only see that happening if Kobe demands to be traded here), then there isn't a player on this team that should prevent Isiah from making a move for him.

In all seriousness, if we're giving up both Lee and Curry, I want Bynum back. We can't be that thin up front, even with Kobe.

How about Crawford (who won't play if we have Kobe), Curry, Lee, Chandler, Mardy Collins, Nate Robinson, Jones (expiring), two future first rounders, two future second rounders for Kobe, Bynum, Vlad (who the Lakers want to get rid of)?

That leaves us with:

C-Andrew Bynum
C-Randolph Morris
C-Jerome James
PF-Zach Randolph
PF-Vladimir Radmanovic
PF-Malik Rose
SF-Jared Jeffries
SF-Quentin Richardson
SF-Renaldo Balkman
SG-Kobe Bryant
SG-Dimitris Nichols
PG-Stephon Marbury
PG-Dan Dickau

In all seriousness, I don't give a **** what we have to give up to get Kobe.

No Kobe = No Chance

Why don't we just switch teams?
Or better yet, let's perform a corporate merger, and take the best 12 players and cut the rest. Then LA and NYC can unite in routing for the same team!

Dream on.

HA. Thats crazy to think somebody would let Lee stand in the way of grabbing Kobe. Close to the legal standard of insanity.

Of course it's a dream. It's a dream to think that any package we could offer could net Kobe. It's highly doubtful. That said, if we're going to trade for Kobe, it's to win. So we better have a team that could win. If all that's left is Zach, Kobe and Marbury, you have the same issues that Odom, Kobe and Kwame have. That's all I was saying.

Again, last summer people said openly that they would not give up Frye in a trade for KG. I mean come on...

Kobe is not KG. As good as Kobe is, he's not winning without a fairly good front court. It's a lot easier to get back court players than front court players. But then, I'm in the minority on this board that would argue against Kobe being 'the best' player in the NBA.

If Lee is the main piece, you do it, no question. If it's Lee and Curry, two talented bigs, for a small... you have to think it over.

Kobe Bryant
6-6 SG from Lower Merion (HS)
31.6 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.4 apg in 40.8 minutes
Outgoing Players
Wilson Chandler
6-8 from DePaul
No games yet played in 2006/07
Nate Robinson
5-9 PG from Washington
10.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 21.2 minutes
Dan Dickau
6-0 PG from Gonzaga
3.3 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 1.4 apg in 9.0 minutes
Fred Jones
6-2 SG from Oregon
6.5 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.7 apg in 20.9 minutes
Jared Jeffries
6-11 SF from Indiana
4.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 23.8 minutes
Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
17.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.4 apg in 37.3 minutes
Eddy Curry
6-11 C from Thornwood (HS)
19.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 35.2 minutes
+ a first rounder or two

Zach-Centers are such a dying breed now...
Lee

Kobe
Marbury

-Q, Radmonivic, Morris, Collins, Rose, Morris off the bench.

From a Kobe Perspective, if the knicks trade for him are we really better than where he is now? IF they can land JO and still keep Odom are they better than us? If they could have gotten Zach for cheap, and also kept oh Dumb, would they not be better?

Thats the problem, KG was not begging out and Boston was stacked with what Minny wanted.

What does LA really want?
