Toronto huh? You think the NBA will want to pair Carter with an All-star? that would be nasty huh? James with the sweet passes to the flying Carter.....nice
I personally feel he's going to land in Miami with P.Riley.

There is no way we are keeping the 9 pick. It is either we win the lottery [pray to God]or we are trading the pick to Portland for Wallace. And I still bet we are players for Alonzo on a 1 year maximum mle.

This is Cablevision's business model for both the Rangers and Knicks. They will trade for big name players[with HUGE price tags]that are either pass their prime, injured, or have become destructive to their former team. They are the only team with the assets that portland wants ending contracts and a lottery pick and the knicks management will do anything including mortgaging the future for the playoffs.
IMHO i would not trade for wallace in ANY circumstance. i know he is a talent--although fairly overrated noted by his lifetime 16 points and 6 rebounds average at 35 mts per game. he is a cancer a punk an overrated WAY overpaid player who has done things like being caught with a pound of marijuana inhis truck ran out of the back of an arena to threaten to kill and official led the nba in technicals_+ suspensions over the last 7 years. sometimes you must weigh in talent vs. charatcer. I know Rasheed has talent but his pay character and the fact that he could hold the knicks up big because he is a FA---he could command a contract s big as 6 years and 110mm which would last until he was 37. you have to stay away fromthese type of situations and players but i believe that dolan more than anyone willcommand this trade through paul allen who will redily get rid of this POC.

There is no way in life the Blazers are trading Rasheed Wallace for the 9th pick in this draft. They might trade him but, they're going to get a lot more than that.

Briggs, do you think Dolan will authorize big contracts at this point? You mentioned you heard they stopped with it for now. Of course, that was before they got LJ off the books.
If Dolan is trying to cut costs, I think we'll keep the pick. If they feel ****y because of the breaks they got on Longley and LJ, then it's another draft-day trade frenzy.
But, even if they do take on a big contract, I don't see Dolan/Layden taking Wallace. They already want Sprewell out for being a bad seed, and Spree isn't really that bad of a seed - Camby got dumped because of his work ethic. Doleac, McDyess? Those are "nice-guy" types. I think Dolan wants to build a milk-and-cookies franchise.

I had a dream last night... we're getting Carmelo... a gift from the league to raise interest... and awaken the sleeping fan base in NY to generate more revenue $$$$.

I can only pray that we don't get involved with this player. From his over-rated play to his bloated contract and his character--forget milk and cookies this guy is one player that defines the word a hl o e.
But yes there is a way to trade for him--in fact from what I have read and researched --we have the ONLY charteristic they want--a lottery pick and ending contracts. We could conceivably trade them Mcdyess and Knight + the 9th pick which would =Raweed's 16,200,000 salary. The bottom line is the Knicks will mortagage the future for raweed. They will let Dave Debusshure turn over in his grave so they can get to the 1st or second round. Maybe raweed does that--who cares. the problem is if raweed has a sucessful year and he puts up good numbersand stays relatively in control--hes in a walk year on his contract--he will be 30+ and will hold the Knicks up @ 40% of the cap for 6 years--and these idiots true to form would OVERPAY him to stay.just imagine raweed when he is 34 and making 18,500,000--can you say vin baker??? this is why you HAVE to stay clear and either go young in a trade or either draft by your pick or move upor down.
I still BELIEVE the way to go is to work a trade with memphis for Stromile Swift and a later pick. If we can either use all of our picks 9-31-39+knight for swift and their 13 or just the 9 knight for swift and their 27[then potentially use the 27-31 and 39 to move up]
personally I would like to see the Knicks address the 3 spot for the future. What i would optimally like would be Swift and the 13 for the 9 31-39 and draft 6-9 SF Travis Outlaw and give himthe twoyears behind sprewell before his contract is uptotake over.
At 6-9 200 pounds with a 7-5 wingspan and a 41 inch vertical--he remindsme of a very young Shawn marion. Like Shawn he willnot be ready for 1-2 years but with all of our locked contracts--we have 13 we dont have the space nor do we play rookies anyway--perfect place for a high school kid with his talent to come. In a year ortwo whenhe fills out and hes 6-9 220 we will have STUD who is alof 20 years old. Combine that with stromile who is 23 Vujonic who will be 25 and you have started building a nice new core on the cheap. Then hOPEFULLy in the next 2 -3 years we will get lucky and find a franchise type player togoaroundthe parts weve built.
