I'd like to see an argument showing us how the 07 Celtics are better than the Lottery-bound 06 Seattle Sonics.

The Sonics of Allen and Lewis finished 31 and 51, and had much better depth than the team Boston will field this Fall. Are we now supposed to believe that KG, Pierce and Jesus Shuttlesworth will run all over the East when their next best player is Kendrick Perkins?

No thanks.

Nice try, but you're not done Danny.

The Nets are better than the Celts, and I think the Knicks are better than the Celts. I just hope the Knicks are better than the Nets, but that's another story.

I haven't been drinking blue and orange kool-aid all night. The Knicks had better bring it to matter this year, but I'm not going to freak about how good the Celts will be with no bench, and really no other players at all.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Is this Custard's last stand or something?

In what way do the 07 Celtics even come close to comparing the 06 Sonics?

As you wish.
And no one's freaking out. Just jealous we couldn't get our hands on KG instead of Zach.
Personally, I don't worry about how other teams' improvements affect our ability to get to the playoffs. I worry that our own improvements are not enough.

LOL! we were doomed as soon as David Stern announced The Knicks have traded Steve Francis and Channing Frye for Zach Randolph. Well actually it started several yrs before the trade but nevertheless the Celtics had no bearing on our eventuality, they just piled on that's all.

They don't, that's the point.
Allen and a top tier wing player and a lots of parts beats three top tier players and no other parts - however, Seattle went 31 and 51.

Does Rondo scare you? Does Perkins scare you? Boston is not balanced enough yet. You can pick one of the stars to put your best defender on and double off of Rondo and Perkins to handle the other two.

Wow, you really think you have some kind of point here that you felt compelled to take this insane argument from another thread and start a whole new one with it.

This is already one of the dumbest threads ever. Comparing Pierce and possibly KG to Rashard Lewis and Nick Collison and saying that the latter is better.

Just ignore it, maybe it will go away.

All the threads that claim the Knicks' sky is falling are getting tired. If we don't have a 4-6 seed in the East this year I'll be shocked.

This was a sorta good day for Boston if they can fill the other holes, but if they don't they'll just be an interesting mediocre team.

Houston tried this with Barkley, the Dream and the Glide and they were good for one year.

Why in the world would we be doomed by the Zach trade? If anything, it gives us a fighting chance in an improving East. Frye was weak and Francis was lost. It can only be a blessing that we got rid of them and added a player who is top 20 in the league right now in terms of production.

The Knicks are gonna be strong and deep this year. Even if we don't get Artest, this team is gonna be right in the mix. It doesn't matter what the other teams do. All that matters is what we do. The Knicks control their own destiny. The Atlantic won't be the laughingstock of the league anymore, that's for sure.

All the freaking out since the draft must be people just venting frustration about work or their girlfriends or something.

We've got a team with lots of young developing talent and our biggest stars are still young and locked up for a few years. By the time Marbs is stuffing himself on Gnochi, Mardy, Chandler, Nichols and Balkman will be taking over the wing and backcourt positions and Eddy and Zach will still be dominant.

In other words, when Starbury is finally gone, the Knicks will be a Lottery team but their lottery pick will be going someplace else to complete the Starbury trade.

Why would we be a lottery team? Are the players I just mentioned going to get worse?
The final marbs pick should be volunteered this year if that's possible.

No, the players you mentioned just aren't that good. If Mardy Collins is your starting PG, you got serious problems.

In a word, K.G. KG is better than anyone the Sonics had in '06. And, I would argue that Pierce is a better overall player than Lewis.

No, definitely want to hold onto this yrs pick. Some very good point guards should be entering the draft of '08. With Marb expiring, the pg spt is a position the Knicks should be targeting next yr.

Outside of KG, Pierce, and Jesus, what Celtic would you give more than 5 minutes a game to on the Celts roster if you could play them on the Knicks?

I don't think you can build a contender like that anymore. Maybe they pick up players to fill the holes, but I don't see Ainge being smart enough to take the next step.
