[Conley's Quickness Astounds July 29, 2007 - 5:11 am Memphis Commercial Appeal - Grizzlies coach Marc Iavaroni has already played Mike Conley highlights in his mind over and over and over again.
"I can't express how happy I am we got Mike Conley," Iavaroni said. "I am really excited. ... I feel blessed as a coach that he will fit our system. He fits our philosophy."
"I want to be one of the best point guards in the league," Conley said.
There still is no substitute for maturity -- something that is undeniable about Conley.
"He's got 'it,' " teammate Rudy Gay said. "He seems like he has what it takes to be a very good point guard in this league if he continues to work at it. He's another threat offensively and defensively. He has long arms, he can penetrate against anybody, and he's fun to watch."]

Everyone sang praises for this kid. Memphis believed in him so much that they drafted Conley when the probably could have went for more of a need. I guess Conley is on a higher level than lowry, but what should become of him? How is his injuries doing? Is he going to be on the trading block?

Lowry is a bullgog, but he doesn't have the pure pg instincts of Conley.

Lowry played a great game un that OT thriller in game 1 last year. He was doing everything. I think he got hurt right after that.

I'm not gonna say lowry is as good as marbs cuz marbs was a freak coming into the league. Lowry is more like Terrell Brandon, kinda sorta.

So another question: does Memphis have a mark price/Kevin Johnson situation? Or mark price/Terrell Brandon situation? Or even a mark Jackson and strickland situation?

I think Lowry is going to be a solid pg, but Conley looks better to me. So Memphis will have a good problem for a couple of years until they trade Lowry.

Hey Terrell Brandon was awesome, if it weren't for the nagging and later career ending injuries

I compared lowry to Brandon cuz of their size and the way he played against the knicks. I thought he couldn't shoot and score but that first game proved he could.

Not to worry cuz the knicks have the next Clyde Frazier on their roster.

I agree with you on Lowly...I was hoping the Knicks would have drafted him last year.

yea they really should have, lowry is going to be a very good player and a great leader would have been exactly what we neded, he does everything well except shoot the ball right now.

They are going to split duties similiar to sacto when they had bibby and jackson....
