kam77 suggested instant replay in another thread. Sounds like the only way the NBA can come out of this Donaghy debacle intact.

Say goodbye to flopping and jersey pulling.

I think the NBA should implement it NFL-style.

that would make the games unbearable to watch IMO... they already use replay for last second shots at the end of each quarter, but if they slowed down the game to watch replays after every foul call it would take a lot of the enjoyment factor out of games... i think they should just implement a questec type system where the refs get graded on the calls they make after each game by an NBA appointed panel.

Way to many plays for instant replay--the game would be boring stopped every few minutes. I consider this a rogue act. I think that there will always be human error and people have to deal with it--its part of the game.

and on the calls they don't make. i think they already get fined for screwing up.

I would say just let them play. If foul is not clear do not call it.
This will make the game more dynamic.
If NBA want to cut on inguries and dirty play thay can make more flegrant on clear fouls but call less fouls in general.

You know what they should to- is allow the lead official to decide whether to review a play or not- and judge that on whether the three officials can agree or not agree on a call.

That means its not going to be used much, but at least if they, the officials have doubt, they can review video footage.

What I would like to see out of the NBA & Officials is uniformity.

If you're calling ticky tack fouls in the regular season, and encouraging open court play, don't suddenly allow defenders to mug the offensive guy in the play offs and not call anything.

And be consistant. If Shaq plows his man under, and its not an offensive foul, then Curry should be able to do the same thing and get the same non call- as should a larger player when guarded against a smaller player.

And- call technicals on FLOPS!

And call traveling on Ginobelli & Parker & the other stars that get by their man so easily because they're traveling.

The last one is not good - Craf and nate will get 10+ turnovers per game...

or, give the coaches a flag like in football and allow them 2-3 instances where they can challenge a call during a game. if they were right, the call is reversed, if wrong you can charge them a time-out or allow the other team to shoot a technical. witherway, it will make coaches think before they throw out their flags.

Think about it, when you're playing streetball, fouls are called on the honor system.

If you feel you were fouled, you call it...Real man shyt.

To hell with these old ass, incompetent, corrupt refs that do nothing but foul up the game.

Imagine the excitement, pure ball from the best athletes. No 3 seconds, or illegal defenses. Imagine Kobe and Lebron flying into the lane with reckless abandon. It would also be pure comedy to see ego maniacal primadonnas argue over calls. Def entertainment. Plenty of fights too.

Never happen in a million years, but it would make EVERY NBA game must see. Quicker games, more scoring, few interruptions.

THe thing is basketball is such a fast pace sport with so many plays that no one play should have an overwhelming impact on the game (outside of maybe the last 5 minutes). So I really don't see a need for replay other than the end of quarter shots, which does not really cause any delay in the game. I think the refs should just let the players play and not call as many ticky-tac fouls. Take the refs out of the game as much as possible, and the game will be better IMO.
