i was at the liberty game on sunday. the garden vision central scoreboard has changed. there are now HDTV screens on 3 sides of the hexagon and a full LCD screen on the other 3. before, it had LED lights, now it's a fully function LCD panel.

they also have full LCD ribbons on the front of the upper tier behind the baskets. so now they can show alot more info and not just the standard LED lights like they had before.

thirdly, and finally, the shot clock over the baskets are thin and clear which can be seen from behind the basket and by the players on the court. there are 2 more shotclocks at the back end of the stansion (the support holding up the basket) for everybody on the other side of the courts to see.

these new screens, HDTV and ribbons are pretty bright and definitely change the experience at the game.

For all you haters that complain about the effort/desire level being exhibited in MSG by the Knicks you should go to a Liberty game & see basketball played in a way that would make Holzman proud.

P.S. - DJ hit me up I have season tix & try to make every game
P.P.S. - missing 2 gimmes at the end of a the game was a helluva way to lose

Whats a shot clock???

The Score board at the new Bobcats Arena (never sold the naming rights!) is all high def sreens and almost seamless. They can do anyting on it. on top is a skyline of charlotte and they can also do some neat things in the back ground.

The problem is its like looking at a computer screen or home TV and with the clarity you sometimes find yourself watching it instead of the game as its clear and the stats are flashing. ALso the timeout entertainment is engaging with shots of fans, celebs (few) and those funny dancing kids.

This stat of the art arena has it all, and I stopped going because the game seems secondary.

TO me the experience is more about extracting my dollars than the game itself. Granted, there have not been too many important games there yet, but enough is enough.

In MSG last season it was refreshing to just hang out and not be so distracted, but I think in time MSG will catch up. If they build a new MSG, it will be cool, but will the experience be the same?

distraction is a good word. i was distracted by the brightness of it. and considering msg dims their lights, it will really be noticeable. i hope they're in the experimental stage right now as they just got the new screens installed.

i'll hit you up via email. i've gone to 3 games already this year and have tix vs. the shock in august.

and no joke, these games are fun. there was a sequence in the last game where it was non-stop pressure defense, hustle, diving for loose balls, steals, etc. and they know how to play.

you know why davenport hasn't played recently? is she hurt? b/c i haven't seen her in like 2 months.

I don't seek out the games but I enjoy them when I do watch them.

I thought the 2006 Duke-Maryland NCAA final was one of the best basketball games I have ever seen!

Straight up fundamental basketball is a pleasure to watch. IM not saying it should replace the mens game, but the men should get some fundamentals down.

I will always hate Lamebeer!!! Whether it's in uniform or on the sidelines. So I'll definitely be there for that one. Jess Davenport is having her spirit killed by Patty "I only play Vets who have memorized Richie Adubato's 1000 page playbook" Coyle. Although, I have to give her props for creating an offense that routinely has all of it's starters in double figures...she needs to realize that superstars win games. I think Shameeka is that superstar but she a psychologist type of coach to convince her to shoot everytime she touches the ball. She made a great (& fundamentally correct) pass to McCarville in the post at the end of the last game but "Big Girls take Big Shots".
