Who is the best shot blocking enforcer the Knicks could trade for right now in a 3 for 1 trade?

Who is the best pure shooter the team can trade for as well?

best shotblocker that's remotely realistic is Camby... i don't see us getting Josh Smith.

best shooter we can get IMO is Wally Z, but his contract stinks... Mike Miller's another option.

or we can simply sign a guy like Eddie House to the LLE to come off the bench, but we already have Nate & a glut of G's as it is... if you can get yourself a shotblocker in a 3 for 1 type deal that includes Nate, then signing House would make some sense.

I wanted them to pursue Eddie House but Nichols is a better option for the Knicks because he is willing to play defense and is just as streaky as House. If I was the Knicks I would purse Ryan Hollins with a trade. He is no Camby (acutally he could be a poor man's version of Diop) but he has upside that he could develop into a solid post defender.

A few thoughts:

For me the shotblocker's a no brainer. Hilton Armstrong is the shotblocker we should be targeting. Love his upside - has the potential to be much, much more than just a shotblocker. And he wouldn't be some deal that would hamper the salary cap for years. A small, sensible deal to fill a need. Any combination of Morris/Balkman/Nate Robinson/Mardy Collins (prefer no Balkman, but I'd seriously consider it) is enough to get that done. I actually like what I saw out of Randolph Morris in the summer league and think he could be a really nice backup big man, but I think Armstrong's better.

The shooter's a lot tougher. I really think Nichols could be the guy. I liked how he looked in the summer league (showed a nice scorer's mentality out there) but, to me, he's actually the one that looked "raw" out there, not Chandler. Still, he can shoot the ball, no question. Also, I know we have too many big men as it is, but does anyone else think Kevin Pittsnogle might be a nice fit as a back-up big who can shoot, make his FTs and rebound? Where's Pittsnogle now, anyone know?

Also, I've said this before, if we ever traded Lee, I immediately try to go after Louis Amundson. Primarily a D-leaguer last year save for a few call-ups by the Kings and the Jazz, this kid would replace everything Lee brings to the table. They're about the same size and have almost identical games. I tell you guys what, if it took Lee to get Artest I'd do it, then look to get Amundson on board to replace the Lee intangibles. Anyone know if the Jazz own his rights or can any team call him up and give him a shot?

I don't think there is a shotblocker out that's worth the trouble. Camby would be nice buy I'm not trading curry for him. Nuggets would tell isiah to go **** himself. Isiah would be on the next flight to Denver some chi-town ruffians ready to go all "departed" upside their heads.

Camby would definately be a straight up gangster trade. You know if the guys keep it all business and forget their differences, dickau, Jones, and a buyout candidate like Jerome or malik could pop it off. Wouldn't that be bugged out?

A trade for Camby would be an absolute "I need a moment to myself" kind of move. I think Frye would have been the player that would have made that work though.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

How about Foyle for Dickau and Jeffries? The salaries match up year to year and over the life of the deals.

how about jj1 and dickau for etan thomas? i honestly think that although young, our rookies can fill that need for a shooter at the three. we DO need at least a two for one though so we don't have to eat two contracts.

Etan would be a nice addition for the bench... if you could get him for garbage like JJ1 & the dick, i'd be fine with that.

I always wanted etan on the knicks. He would take minutes from lee, but I look at it as picking up soldiers. Etan rebounds and block shots. He knows that's his job. He would come in for curry. In my opinion you can never have enough big bodies. The more bodies you have the more you can tell a guy to be aggressive cuz they know they have someone behind them that is gonna hold it down. Also role players like etan can just do his job at full speed knowing he can go all out cuz his minutes will be minimal. Get in there and hold it down till the starters can get back. Etan probably would fit in well. I think etan and marbs might become close. Etan is a reader and he likes to help out in the comminity. That's could be a good thing.

Anyway, I'm gushing cuz I just like the guy. I would be very excited about trading for him.

he can also show curry and morris how to be more rugged. obviously jj aint doing that. curry/thomas/morris. in that order.

i think washington may do something like that because of the animosity beetween him and haywood. plus they need a point.
