Nice memories. It was good we had Johnson for a part of his career.

OMG.....Incredible memories! Those were the best times ever as a Knick Fan! I got goosebumps as well. And to think, I was there - it was my first Knick game ever - after being a fan through tv for 12 yrs. Unbelievable. Larry Johnson was one of the greatest Knicks in my opinion. And not for scoring a whole bunch of points. You can't really tally what he brought to the Knicks. Man, the energy of the playoffs back then...just priceless.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

He is probably better than just about everyone on the team right now to be honest he was always in great shape and did what he needed to do for the team, losing weight to play the small foward and just being selfless, he is an all-time knick its just too bad.....
would have been nice to see a healthy lj in the finals that year along with childs and dudley to see what the team could have done, a couple of mistakes in the games were the difference..... |

Dudley?
MS - you meant to cite Marcus Camby, Allan Houston, Kurt Thomas (who developed a chemistry with Camby in sharing the pill) and Spree (who made everyone scream when he reported to the scorers table), yes? [Edited by - misterearl on 07-18-2007 6:00 PM] once a knick always a knick

No i didn't actually LJ, Childs and Dudley all had injures going into the finals and they weren't 100%, which really hurt because lj would have killed elliot. Obviously it would have been nice to see a healthy ewing out there as well.
But I think the labor meetings were a big reason for him being injured he was out of shape most of the season and it hurt him, i hope step doesn't fall victim of being out of shape from his shoe tour. He really needs to be working on his jumper and dropping a few pounds to increase his quickness |

I agree about Dudley. We needed him against the twin towers.

Hey I loved Johnson as much as anyone, I even had the Converse Grandmamas. But lets be honest, by the time he got to the Knicks, the back had started to give out and he was very immobile and hurt those last few years.
But he was amazing in the locker room and will always be one of my favorites, but he really only had a strong 3, 4 years in the league. I don't care what people think. People are stupid. - Charles Barkley
