Before Summer League, the vote was 16 to 10 in favor of getting rid of Nate and keeping Dickau. http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=22433 What about now? Who should we keep on our roster?
Nate
Dan

Nothing has changed in my stance. Sure Nate played great but it's only summer-league.

We still need a pure PG- Dickau.

This is of course assuming we're packaging Nate and getting something back.

Keep Nate.

Dickau isn't actually good.

Play Mardy at backup point, give Jamal a run or two orchestrating the offense.

I'd keep Dickau, let him expire, and see what trade opportunities are out there for a package involving Nate.
Just let me emphasize, I don't want to get rid of Nate just for the sake of getting rid of him. More moves are obviously needed. Nate just happens to be one of our more tradeable/expendable pieces.

those who say nate isn't a pure PG, did you guys watch SL or do you just follow boxscores?

come to think of it, do you not even follow the box scores? nate LED THE SL in assists. he played under control, he get ppl shots.

dan dickau is better, yea right!

nate is going to get minutes this yr, dickau will NOT.

Dickau's only value is as an expiring contract to me... if you're not going to use him in a trade, i'd just get rid of him... Nate's a better player than he is IMO.

Not even close. Nate stays. He is a perfect Vinnie the Microwave kind of bench player. Of course, he's probably not a big minute guy & he does require a big PG to play with for defensive purposes (in other words, despite Summer League, he plays SG on Offense & vs. the PG on defense).

If used right & if a little bit of maturity sets in, he could be a nasty weapon off the bench.

Nate doesn't play defense. Watch him closely on D, especially off the ball the guy is a liability.

If you think Nate doesn't play defense, check out Dan.

He at least tries to play D and is slow, with Nate the effort isn't there, he just doesn't get it and I don't think he ever will.

Don't hate Nate
Cuz Nate played great
And don't equate
Dickau with Nate

In a Western state
He demonstrates
Why he's known
As Nate the Great

Our main man Nate
We highly rate
The summer league
He dominates.

he at least tries? this is the NBA bro, trying ain't good enough.

nate is a better shooter, better athlete, better point guard, and better defender.

dickau will be bought out or traded

Dick and Jones are garbage........... Knicks fans please stop gravitating to other teams trash!!!!!!!

Nate can be the best sixth man in the league, I'm keeping that over retreads.

Dickau is not really a good player. He is a slow, pass first PG who can't really shoot consistently. Remember the Ward/Childs era? Well thats Dickau but without any defense. The guy is, I repeat, a slow, smallish guard. I'm surprised he is still int he league.

Jones is a poor man's Craw. I think they were both just throw ins to make the trade work. Unless we dump Malik or make a trade, both can easily be waived.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

jones AND dickau were throw-ins, its not like isiah made the deal to get either of them. taking that into account, i could really care less about them. i think they are two of the worst guys on the roster, and i'd rather have demetris nichols over both.

I think Nate can still be a key sub for us, but I'll say this...

How good would Dickau or Jones have looked in the Summer League? I'm guessing pretty good.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Dickau and Jones are pros, so I would expect they'd do well. still Dickau is only OK and Nate has the chance to be spectacular. He's gotten better and you could see it starting late last year. He was getting ripped by Isiah and i'm sure he let Nate know that he'd better get it in gear or else. Nate is still a SG in a PG's body, but if he can keep moving in this direction he has a chance to really be a good player. So i'd keep him and build his value up. if we eventually feel he's not right for our needs at least he'll be a good trade chip. NOBODY wants Dickau or Jones. But i can imagine that some teams would want Nate. He's a little scoring dynamo.
