Obviously I will be looked at as impartial here but I think the time has come and most would agree that we need to move one of these guys. And a lot of fans see Crawford and his hot streaks and endless talent and believe he is one of the most important players on the team and can't be moved. But the fact remains Jamal is not a starter on a good nba team and he isn't the same player coming off the bench. I just can't explain this love affair for Crawford. We have two very poor defenders up front that are supposed to protect the rim. And our guards are supposed to stop people from getting to the basket? But add Crawford into the mix and you have three awful defenders and Marbury is just ok when he wants to be. Jamal 17.6pts 4.4ass 3.2rbs 40% 32%3fg 04-05 39% 36%3 2.11tos 38min 05-06 41% 34%3 2.22tos 32min 06-07 40% 32%3 2.75tos 37min Nate 10.1pts 2.0ass 2.0rbs 43% 39%3fg 05-06 40% 39%3 1.58tos 21min 06-07 43% 39%3 1.13tos 21min There is this notion that Jamal can improve, I just don't see how it's the case, he is always going to be the same player especially under Isiah who holds Crawford to a different standard, any coach that gives a guy the green light and doesn't bench him for his defense isn't really coaching. Nate can flat out shoot, and he does it at a higher rate than jamal, and can become a player maker. If the object is to space the floor I would rather have Nate doing it.

Jamal, because I'm not convinced if you put Nate in that same role you wouldn't see his shooting numbers dip.

The one thing about Craw is the uncanny ability he has to feed Curry. If it were not for that, I think he would be buried on the depth chart this year.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

JC is one of our worst shooters on the team, inside and outside of the line, yet took the 3rd most shots on the team last season. No defense whatsoever. The only thing JC is better than Nate at is free throw shooting. I would prefer these combinations in the guard spots (Marbs/Q; Marbs/Nate; Collins/Marbs; Collins/Nate).

But is the ability to feed one player worth it, i am not even saying make nate a mainstay in the lineup.

I think you move him for expirings or a draft pick. Remember Jamal's Knicks have average 30 wins. Role players help you win in this league and we now have a good selection of those guys. We need defense and specialist out there to become a great team

I say Nate if you really have to choose. Nate will actually try to defend. Jamal's defense is his offense. Nate is a better 3 point shooter than Jamal and it is hard to believe but can play more under control. I rather have Nichols take Jamal spot in the rotation. He shoots just as well and tries to play defense.

If we had a decent sized starting 2 that could shoot the ball consistently (and even defend a little), then I like Nate as an explosive third guard. As of now we don't have that player and I think JC fits a a starting 2 better than Jamal.

I voted keep em both for now...I still want to upgrade the 2 some other way.

I'd definitely chose Nate.
We have Collins and Marbs to handle the shooting guards on defense.
Crawford is also going into his 8th season and we have watched him play here for 3 years and at this point what we have scene is what we are going to get. Crawford is a starter for a lottery team.

On the other hand, Nate has shown a very nice touch from outside. He also has shown very impressive ability to take it to the hole. Even if his defense has been suspect at times, you just know he has it in him to be a pest and a factor on that end of the court.

This season, Nate needs to see some burn. Nate has been stuck in this guard glut for the past few seasons, and he must have been frustrated which has led to some of his problems.

Nate has to go. There's just no point to him on this team. Jamal definitely is not the perfect SG by a long shot, but I do think he has some value to this team.

what are we voting for? Who to keep or send?

If we could package Crawford and get back decent value, then do it. But I don't see us being able to do that.

At this point, I think we need to get back ending contracts and picks instead of players.

Simple, you start Q at the 2, and when Collins comes in you can slide Marbs to SG; then Nate is the 3rd option at PG and SG. He is more deserving of the minutes than JC.

If you can't get decent value for crawford and he has a reasonable deal by all accounts, what does that tell you about jamals worth around the league. Isiah really needed to call the Lakers last season and move him for the expiring of Mihm and Mckie, but isiah like many people have this fantasy of a player that crawford can become.....

Playground players don't play well in this league because they shoot off of every crossover that gets the fans excited, try to make highlight plays and just don't play consistent enough on both ends

i'm sorry, Jamal > Nate, it's not even close

what are you asking here anyway? to select who you want to keep, or get rid of? or did you just post this poll to harp again on how much you despise Jamal's game?

right, so we can't base our opinions on what we've actually seen out of these players on the floor? just what supports any theory that Nate is a better player than Jamal in your eyes? i guarantee you that Jamal has more value even w/his bigger contract... if the argument is you want to trade Jamal because you can get more in return for him, then that's different, but you need to get real if you think Nate is a better player than Jamal.
