This guy can play, he can shoot, he can score. I am loving this guy, I am loving his shooting stroke, I never felt this way about a shooter like that since Allan Houston (who is my favorite Knick of all-time). If Isiah doesn't officially sign this guy then this Isiah should get slaped with wet burning alchol and cow crap (not that he doesn't deserve it already with some of the movees he pulled). He was a great pick up and I hated that gossip article from the gossip queen Marc Berman about Nichols to Europe, BS this guy can ball from seeing what he can do in the SL this guy is what we have been looking for a guy who can knock down the 3 from long range with a sweet strock when Eddy Curry and Randolph is getting doubled. Love em!!!!!

Maybe he will. I think think Demtrius is shooting the lights out and is quickly earning a roster spot. My issue is: who's spot? Don't get me wrong, I would dump the contracts of JJeff, JJames, MRose for anything if it meant our team could get younger, but as a practical matter, it doesn't make sense. I mean, even waivig the JJs makes no sense due to the length of their contracts. I don't like Berman, but if Demetrius plays one year in Europe while we hold his rights, well, perhaps the roster spot issue will work itself out... we need to see how the rest of the summer offseason plays out...

You know I gonna spin wit it

Crawford for Kwame Brown plus draft pick.

Why Crawford becomes Robin to Kobe's Batman and for us we get an expiring contract we can waive the bum and get a roster spot and salary purge. Start Q at SG and play Nate behind him.

That will be difficult for many here with a man-crush on JC to handle.

JC is too erratic. I don't think anyone will cry if we trade JC. Man, DNich can seriously shoot and crash the boards too. Imagine him backing up Balkman at the 3 playing with Lee and Nate. I'm liking this already.

Since you can't trade small for big I came up with this:

New York Trade Breakdown
Outgoing

Randolph Morris
6-11 C from Kentucky
0.8 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 8.6 minutes

Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
17.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.4 apg in 37.3 minutes
Incoming

Kwame Brown
6-11 C from Glynn Academy (HS)
8.4 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 27.6 minutes
Change in team outlook: -10.0 ppg, +1.0 rpg, and -2.8 apg.

L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
Outgoing

Kwame Brown
6-11 C from Glynn Academy (HS)
8.4 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 27.6 minutes
Incoming

Randolph Morris
6-11 C from Kentucky
0.8 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 8.6 minutes

Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
17.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.4 apg in 37.3 minutes
Change in team outlook: +10.0 ppg, -1.0 rpg, and +2.8 apg.

Successful Scenario
Due to New York and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Trade ID
Every trade made by fans is allocated a unique Trade ID which you can share with friends and fellow basketball fans to allow them to see your trade scenario. The Trade ID for this scenario is 4106750.

You would trade RMorris for KBrown? I know it's still early, but I would like to see more of Morris's game before I chuck him for Brown. You would trade Morris and we still have JJames??? I don't get it...

I'm loving what I'm seeing out of Nichols so far this summer league. I am a huge advocate of summer-league games don't really mean a thing but theres one thing that you can't take away from a player in summer-league; his stroke. A shooter is a shooter no matter what, it doesnt matter what league you're in and right now Nichols is showing all of us that he has a sick J and there should be absolutely NO reason that Isiah doesn't keep him on the roster. NONE.

The truth is that Nichols can be a lot better than this. That's the scary part. He has a great midrange post game that we haven't seen much of yet.

His ball handling has looked better than it was at SU at times, but he was stripped several times this past summer leage game against GS. He's got to get that part of his game down.

why in the world do you people suggest trades that severely bring less value in return? and you're practically giving away a young, cheap center who showed nothing but promise in the summer league....furthermore, he is likely our back-up C this year.....all for a broken down, high salary guy like Hughes

1) Forget Kwame Brown.
2) Hughes doesn't seem to be the player he was before his recent injuries. Also, he's very fragile.
3) Nichols was a nice pick and he's looking very good in summer league. But remember, this is summer league. Lampe looked like a steal in summer league several years ago.

I like Nichols' versatility. He's good defensively, he has a nice shot and he's athletic. Trading a 2nd to get him was a good move. The point about his ball handling is well taken. He can improve in that area.

Just think how good Nichols will look left open after the double team to Zach or Curry...
No way he shouldn't make the roster.

Morris, Crawford and whoever for Kwame and a pick. You must enjoy when other teams rape us, like Orlando and Chicago. Kwame is horrible and he's still gonna command minutes and to top it off, Morris can be just as good as he is now and may already be. If you wanna go after a pick, go buy one.

By the way, I like Nichols too. He's a scorer though. If we want him to have a spot on the roster, then we have to rid ourselves of our other scorers, which is just about everyone.

The alternative can be to just buyout Jones and Dickua who expire anyway.

I am actually with the group who are refreshed to see Nichols play. If we can find a roster spot for Nichols, he fills a major need. I was skeptical that he would be on the roster this season, but with his summer league play... I'm hoping that we do something to make sure he's on the 12.
