The Kings have signed free-agent forward Mikki Moore, according to his agent, Mark Bartelstein.

The deal is for three seasons, at the mid-level exception. The first two seasons and half of the third season are guaranteed, according to Bartelstein. The 7-foot, 223-pounder has played for seven franchises, most recently the New Jersey Nets. He turns 32 in November.

Moore went undrafted out of Nebraska in 1998.

One day after the Kings came close to sending point guard Mike Bibby to Cleveland in a deal involving Cavaliers forward Drew Gooden, Moore's signing appears to negate that possibility.

Moore was huge for the Nets last year. I totally dismissed that pickup because in the past Moore was put on the physically unable to play list because he was frail and under weight and because he had been assaulted by fans when he was a Clipper. However, Thorn proved me wrong. I got to see him live last year and I think the Kings got a good player and the Nets lost one. They really needed him. I am not sure how they will fill that void.

With a healthy Krstic and I suppose they expect to get a few minutes from Sean Williams to be the energy guy that Moore was. If he can lay off the drugs.

If Krstic can stay healthy that should cancel out the loss of Moore. But this is still a pretty big blow for the Nets. They're just kind of treading water in the feeble East while Kidd continues to inch towards the end of his career. They need to blow it up already.

So much for the lure of playing w/ Jason Kidd/Vinsanity. Go where the money is. He's fairly old (32ish, right?) for a player... so he's gotta take advantage of his limited shelf life.

Smart business decision... but where's the fun with playing w/ the Kings?! (Actually, the Brad Miller/Mike Bibby pass-first experience isn't so ba)

I thought so too. That was a good signing for the Kings.

The Kings need to blow it up too.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Bibby, Artest, mikki, a healthy Miller and their young guys is a decent team. Nothing great in the West, but respectable.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
