I need to go to this place on 12th street and University place and I looked up the map online, for the Subway, but I'm still not positive which line I should take. Anyone got a clue? Thank you...

The closest stop is Union Square, so you could take the 4,5,6 or the N,R,W, Q or L trains. If you exit from the south-western corner of the station and cross 14th street you'll be right at 14th street & University.

If you're closer to the 1,3 & 3 trains you can get off at 14th street. Exit from the southern part of the station (which is 12th street) and walk the 3 long blocks over to University.

I am coming from Penn Station.

I would just take the 1, 2, or 3 train directly from inside Penn Station, get out at 7th Ave & 14th Street, and walk a couple of blocks east.

Alternatively, you can exit Penn Station, walk over to Broadway for the N or R to Union Square.

The second one is probably less walking, but the first simpler.

Then I vote for the 1,2 or 3 to 14 street. These trains are right at Penn station. When you get off the train at 14th, exit from the southern part of the station (towards the front of the train) and you'll be on 12th Street. Then head East. If you don't know which direction that is, ask someone which way 6th Avenue is. Go three blocks in that direction and you'll be on 12th and University.

You could also leave Penn station and walk a block East to 6th Avenue and get the N,W,R or Q train.

Muchos Gracis amigos. I think I'm going to take the 1 to 14th street and just walk. If anyone's curious, I'm going to Japonica's. Sushi = Godsend.

It was generally agreed in a thread here not long ago that the woman should pay for the first date.

Good directions. I need to stop saying nyc'ers don't know how to use the train.

Don't worry, Solace is going to be watching from a distance with his spy cams. If he sees any signs of me paying, he'll come and slap her.

You're getting me confused with Bonn. I'm the one who just wants the woman to make an effort to pretend that she's not a money grubbing whore. At any rate, if you're going out for a date, congratulations.

One thing to remember... if she absolutely insists on paying, let her, because the date is basically over.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
