While watching the Sacremento summer league game, I noticed that in every meniton of a roster lineup, Jared Jeffries wasn't mentioned. Walt Frasier missed his name, Gus Johnson would miss his name in roster lineup ideas, as did Mark Aguire and Malik Rose. Gus even discussed Jerome James, but nothing about Jared. EVen Dickau and Fred Jones got mentioned.
I know this doesnt mean anything except that he's forgettable, useless, and a waste for a roster space. Not unlike Jerome James, but at least Jerome is a wide body with 6 fouls to give, what is Jeffries? Not a clue of a trade, but I cant imagine what role he playes other than taking up time for R Balkman, D Lee, and possibley Nichols and Chandler.
I wish they had sent Jeffries with Zach Randolph to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neill. Jeffries and Randolph are both Indiana guys, but thats neither here nor there. Either way, it would be nice for Jeffries to be outie.

I read on a thread somewhere that Jeffries has worked on his game allot this summer. Some guy even said he looked like a different player. With that said... I still hope he is off the team so he doesn't take minutes away from the rooks, Balkman, and Lee.

If Jeffries can shoot better, he has some value but I cannot believe that his shooting has improved that much. He would have to get substantially better at shooting before he would be a real factor in our lineup. Simply put, Balkman cannot shoot either but he is a better defender, shot-blocker, rebounder, and ball-handler than Jeffries. In fact, Balkman's ability to get the rebound and start the break will probably lead to 4-6 fast break points per game. Add in his shot-blocking and defense and his own scoring and you see this guy has a huge impact on games.

to me, even if Jeffries gets over his first year problems and becomes the player we imagined, he should be behind both Lee & Balkman on the depth chart- which should mean he sees no burn.
Even Chandler & Nichols should be ahead of him, simply because they can actually shoot.

How much would you give JJ2 in a buyout? 15 mil? How about Jerome James? 12 mil?
I'd do it. Everyone here would bash Isiah for the wasted money but i would still do it if i couldn't find any nice trades to reduce the roster.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Thers no need for JJ on this team. But you know that he wont be bought out and if IT does what he usually does then you know the big money is going to get the big minutes....JJ will be probably starting next year.

Jefferies is a waste... both our rookie SF's probably have better upsides & i would venture to guess are probably better than him right now anyway... unless he's had some miraculous transformation over the offseason, i don't see what function he serves on this team.

I actually saw some improvements in Jared's form at the end of last season. He's probably not a lost cause in that regard. Before making any final judgements we need to see how this guy is coming along. I also think that he had an off year and has a chance to snap back like Q did.
It would make things much easier if he wasn't here, but unless Isiah can use him in a trade we look like we'll be stuck with him. I do believe Isiah is probably looking to make a deal to cut down the roster a bit and he seems like a guy he'd want to move now with the way Balk is playing and young prospects like Chandler and Nichols.
