Knicks' Big Men Coming Up Small
July 13, 2007 - 6:41 am
New York Post -
Eddy Curry dodged this week's voluntary Knicks big-man minicamp in Las Vegas that assistant Mark Aguirre organized to coincide with summer-league play, and New York may be the ones who suffer as a result.

The Knicks were hoping that Curry and new acquisition Zach Randolph could spend some time together to start to mesh, since both dominate the ball and occupy the low post. One member of the Curry camp, however, mentioned it's up to Thomas to make this work, not Curry.

Curry had an anniversary vacation planned with his wife this week he wouldn't postpone. Apparently, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post, the Knicks' franchise player felt his vacation that started nearly three months ago, when the season ended April 18, wasn't long enough. [READ]

He could've postponed it. He has had three months off. The real issue is that he wasn't interested in working during the offseason. That's obvious by his comment. Like I said, priorities.

that comment was by "one member of the curry camp."

if he comes in in shape, that's what really matters. the itchy and scratchy show will get started soon enough.

Note to the fans: Stop paying attention to media reports both good and bad. You won't know the results of the work put in this summer until the season starts

Don't be h8rs guys. I'm sure itchy and scratchy will know what to do, and it actually is up to Isiah Thomas to make this work. Eddy (Itchy?) just needs to stand around looking pretty.

Last year it was Isiah's job to make Eddy an all-star, this year it's his job to make him and Randolph jive together. I'm just wondering, what's Eddy's job in all this?

Wasn't the anniversary thing the excuse he used to bail out on his interview with Atlanta when he was a FA? Eddy gets a lot of milage outta this one.

Nice that he's whipped though. If only his wife would tell him to work on his game...
