Am I missing something on DeShawn that this board knows about and I don't. He's a decent player, but he looks like nothing more than a league average 2. No standout skills.

i think the contract issue also plays a role... if you were to say Jamal at 4 years $12 mil or D Sean at the same money, i'd take Jamal.

Come on. Deshawn isn't half the player Craw is. Deshawn = Trenton Hassell.

Stevenson's a more well rounded guard. He used to be athletic as all hell to but he has turned himself into a solid but unspectacular, well rounded quality NBA starting 2-guard.

Wasn't Deshawn compared to Jordon when he was coming out of HS.

If Deshawn Stevenson is starting, your team has issues (or it has a 30 ppg) point guard like Arenas covering up for the fact that Stevenson can only score if <= 5 ft from the hoop. He is, like I said a Hassell or even a Fred Jones type.

They are both average two guards, jamal is better, would rather have him, but if you factor in money and defense it's a little more even, Stevenson didn't distinguish himself during the playoffs though

Steveson 11.2pts 2.6rbs 2.7ass 0.8stls 1.45tos 46%fg 40%3fg 29.5min 9fga
Crawford 17.6pts 3.2rbs 4.4ass 1.0stls 2.75tos 40%fg 32%3fg 37.3min 15fga

Our standards for defense ahve definitely dropped over the years. He plays hard there, but is he shutting people down? Never my impression.

Stats don't show it either. The Net points with him on the court is much worse than when he's off the court. Effective FG allowed is 2% higher when he's on the court too.

His offense is reasonably efficient, and he can hit the 3 (moreso than the guys you mention), but his scoring ability is rather tame, especially for a 2g (season and career highs of less than 30 points). Certainly doesn't do enough to make up for the fact that team was giving up a high EFG% when he was on the floor- that's borne out by his bad net pts...

Crawford had a slightly postive net as far as points when on the court vs. off the court, and our opponent EFG% didn't change much when he was off the floor. Actually when you consider our team EFG% when he was on the floor went up, he had a positive net there too.

I voted for stevenson- because Isiah's turned the roster over twice since he's been here- what would a third time matter?

Crawford because when he is on he is unstoppable. Didn't Crawford drop 50+ on D-Wade hit something like 16 straight on him too. Didn't Crawford crack Kobe's ankle and drop a huge bucket on him in the Knicks win over Lakers. Weren't the Knicks 500 with Crawford in the starting lineup. I like crawford esecially if you guys are putting him up against the likes of Stevenson.

Stevenson hands down. Crawford is a chucker and plays no defense. HE and Curry are the current NBA players with the longest stint in the NBA without seeing a playoff game.

At least Stevenson made it to the playoffs with Utah and Washington.

Thats a load of crap and you know it. Curry was a vital part of the Bulls making the playoffs but he didn't play in the playoffs do to the heart ailment.

I am not putting Deshawn up for All Defensive Team or even saying that he is ridiculously better. But with a team full of offense and little to no defense, a role player like Deshawn is more valuable than putting crawford on the court in the starting rotation. He isn't going to get a ton of looks and the one's that he does get are likely to be poorly selected. I tend to believe that Crawford's inconsistency makes him a liability. Now, at his size and with his quickness if someone convinced him to play defense he would be sick...
