Hell yeah I would do that. But why would Washington. I thought they were trying to shed dollars by getting rid of one of those guys.

You must be in the "Trade David Lee" fan club.

However, a source indicated that Thomas's contract contains a hefty trade kicker that would push his salary to about $7.3 million next season, and that has caused several teams to reconsider trade proposals for the veteran center.

also etan is injury prone......no thanks

Me? No way. I am in the get rid of Nate fan club.

Follow this up with a trade of Jones and Dickau and maybe Morris(?) or a future protected #1 for Artest. And I would still love to sign Gerald Wallace to the full MLE.

Curry/
Randolph/
Artest/
Wallace/
Marbury/

Crawford, Collins, Q, Lee, Balkman, Thomas, Malik off the bench.

Jefferies and Randolph on the IR.

Thomas has the same amount of years as Jerome is would be infinately more useful, IMO.

We should trade Washington Nate for Stevenson. They just drafted Nick Young, who can be their starter. Nate can be their sixth man.

I actually didn't notice the sig JoeC, but I just said that because if you're gonna have Curry, Randolf AND Thomas, who's gonna command at least 20 minutes a night, with all 5 million small fowards that we already have, then where does that leave Lee? Lee has earned himself a guaranteed 30 minutes a game. He hardly gets that now, unless of course, Curry regresses.

i don't think it's realistic to think we can trade Turd for anything worth getting... i would offer up Malik straight up for Etan... that's even value IMO because the Knicks are taking on 1 extra year in salary.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

If Thomas backs up mainly at center(where he will see 99% of his time behind Curry) Lee won't see any real reduction because I don't think Lee will see any time at center next year. He isn't strong enough to defend there, IMO. using the the formula of 48 minutes at C, 48 minutes at PF, If Curry gets around 33-35 minutes at C and Randolph gets 33-35 minutes at PF/C and Thomas gets 13-15 minutes as a defensive replacement for Curry-and just that, Lee would be the main backup for Randolph (13-15 minutes at least plus another 10ish at SF. Maybe you can even shift Randolph to center and play Lee a PF a bit of even play Lee and Etan together(hell Etan, Randolph, and Lee for that matter) and have a very strong rebounding frontcourt for some stretches.

Yeah but its really going to be a 3 man rotation. Curry will go out, Randolph will slide to the 5 and Lee will go in at the 4. So if you put Thomas in there Lee would see his minutes cut because he wouldn't have any time at the 4.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I don't like the idea of a 4 man PF/C rotation. If you can't cover something so basic as the entire defensive half of the court with your three man rotation, it doesn't mean you need to get a fourth man. It means your approach to building a team is flawed.

Nahhhh.... I heard that... I heard Lee grew 2 inches and that he's been practicing swatting flies with Mr Miagi. We'll be fine on D.

i've brought this up before, why not? etan is another new yorker w/shotblocking ability, who's yonger and very competitive. he and haywood had issues, and i believe got into a fight. so i think the wiz would do this in a heartbeat.

It's not ideal, I agree, but it is the path Isiah has chosen to go with this team. Isiah has chosen to try and cover Curry's flaws by just getting a large number of "big men" (Zach, Morris, to a lesser extent Jefferies) and strong defensive forwards such as Balkman and Chandler to try to somehow cover for Curry's flaws. I'd rather we either acquired guys that aren't specifically targeted because their strengths are Curry's weaknesses and obtained to cover for Curry or to get rid of the problem all together and acquire a guy not so hard to build around.

IMO, he really has to build this team in lines, a lot like a hockey club. One defensive player such as Artest isn't going to make us a good defensive team. He can only guard one guy at a time. Isiah put himself in a position where he has to get 5 guys who can play offense and 5 guys who can play defense and hope tha he can match them at any point and hope the combo works.

That being the case, Etan would be a great fit to this team and he really brings the shot blocking and intimidation no one else on this team brings.
