I don't like using Hoopsworld but it appears legit

Orlando Free agent Grant Hill has chosen the Phoenix Suns as his next destination.

In an exclusive interview with Basketball News' Jarrod Rudolph, Hill confided that he has decided to join Phoenix, and will be signing a new contract with the Suns on July 11th.

In a wide ranging interview that will be available in the next few hours, Hill discussed why he chose the Suns, and why he really did not give the Magic much consideration.

Hill is rumored to have agreed to a contract for the NBA minimum, just over $1 million for a player with his NBA experience.

Look for Jarrod's interview with Grant Hill and more as it develops.

League minimum?! That's a bargain! The rich (Phoenix) get richer.

I think he should have chosen the Pistons. It would have been a nice way to end his career and he would not have to deal with the Spurs and the Mavs. That being said, if he is healthy, the SUns are going to be tough to knock out in the playoffs next year.

Grant Hill To Sign With Suns
In the SOUTH FLORIDA SUN-SENTINEL, Brian Schmitz writes "Grant Hill has decided to sign with the Phoenix Suns to hopefully hitch a ride to an NBA title, leaving the Orlando Magic after seven injury-racked, mostly unfulfilled seasons. He will sign with the Suns for the $1.2 million veteran's exception, which is all Phoenix was willing to offer."

well run organizations get players like Grant Hill to sign for the league minimum... badly run organizations get players like Jarred Jefferies to sign for the full MLE.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Grant Hill was not going to get the MLE from anyteam. I wonder why you guys are so shocked.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

he signed for the bi-annual exception -- for $1.8 million this season and almost $2 million in 2008-09 at the player's option

Grant Hill is done. He will be riding the bench like Jalen Rose was.

grant hill was signed to be their starting SF. they just dumped their other starter (james jones) for a trade exemption to portland - at least that's what's been heavily rumored.

hill last season played 65 games, 14.4 pts, 52 fg%, 3.7 asts, 2.1 rebs on a playoff team. he has alot more juice than jalen.

James Jones? That's weird. The Blazers basically traded us his younger, cheaper Doppleganger (Nichols).

Phoenix is a great place for Grant to end his career. The guy deserves to go out with a few good seasons.

if you're an orlando magic fan, would you feel betrayed? you pay the guy all this money, he was constantly hurt and now he leaves your team on the cheap to try and win a title elsewhere.

that's like if h20 came back and signed with them or san antonio.

They more than likely have another trade in the works.

He tried to give back some of his contract to the franchise but it wasn't allowed under the CBA. Since the Suns are under a tight budget he couldn't work a S&T deal with Orlando. I believe Orlando was going to renounce him anyway if their plan works out the way they want. I think they may have wanted to sign him for some portion if not all of the MLE. They'll have to offer it to someone else if their plan works.

Hell yeah I would feel betrayed. He could of retired claiming injury and came off the books along time ago, instead he kept coming back and sitting all season, collecting a check. I understand why he would do it, I would do it, thats alot of money. But in the end, it doesn't make it morally right. I can also understand why he would want to play for a winning team, but it still has to burn Magic fans especially if he comes out and has a great season.
