From what I read I heard he is explosive with some nice skills and loads of potential, the key was his weight, if he can control that then the sky the limit.

We know laydens dumb azz didn't give him any guarantees, so maybe it is someone like west who knows talent and sees potential...

I have no trouble drafting james Lang at 9. He is a TRUE center--we know he has skills and can run the floor. hes lost 20 pounds since the MCD game and stands at 6-11 320

Now that is something I would be interested in.If someone says Id rather take sofokolis or Pavel over Sweetney at 9--they must be nuts. But James Lang is a different story. We *KNOW* he has skills anyone who watched mCD knows that. hes got quick hands and explodes to the basket. he also runs the floor very well. If he can get down to 6-11 290 he will be a force.

Thats what I have been saying all along but a lot of people think he isn't a first round pick. I would take with the 9th Pavel/Lang/Kosta/ I might even consider Vranes. This team needs heigh and a legit center to scare off some slasher who have been going through the knicks like swiss cheese. Priority number 1 center.

Does anyone really think that any GMs are giving out guarentees to High School players (other than Lebron) without bringing them in for a workout?

guarantees are always being given, and broken - Rashard Lewis is a prime example

Did Villanueva declare yet officialy because my friend who goes to UNC is claiming that Williams is trying to get him there and Self is trying to lure him to Kansas. He's also looked at UCLA and UCONN. Any word on if he's officialy declard?

Enough about James Lang already. Being 300 lbs does not a Shaq Attack make. I can see Sofoklis (PLEASE!), Sweetney, Kaman, Pavel, Varejao (Why does no one talk about Sideshow Bob?), Lampe, and even some of the better small forwards and guards like Barbosa, Ford, OUtlaw, Diaw and Pietrus being taken with our #9 pick.

But James Lang does not deserve to be drafted with a lottery pick. He'll be lucky to get in the first round. Did you see the McD game? Outside Lebron and maybe Villanueva/Deng, NOBODY looked NBA ready. I'm not saying we shouldn't draft a project with the #9. I'm just saying if we are drafting a project, it should be the best project available. And Lang is hardly that. He'll go in the 25-35 range, and hey, maybe even to us. But so will a lottery worthy pick.

Have some patients and foresight. Player that are willing to work hard will only get better. Try not to think of these draft picks as anything that will help next year but down the road and if they do contribute next year that would be a great plus. I think everyone wants someone to come in and get you 20-10 right away. Well Yoa didn't do that and neither did Amare. So lets be a little patient with the draft pick. My only problem is that the Knicks are notorious for not giving run to the rooks which just keeps them down. I get tired when people on the board keep saying if they were any good they would win the job in practice. You know the KNicks don't work like that they like to give the run to their contract people so they can produce because they don't want to admit to mistakes made.
