I say bring on Pat, put him on the sidelines, teach the young draft picks how to play the big man spots - and when the time comes, fire Chaney and if Ewing is a good coach make him the man, give him another shot at a ring in New York.

P.Ewing didn't do much to Etans and Haywoods game in DC, I doubt he'll do any good here

This was always one of the knocks on Ewing as a player: he never made any of the people he was playing with any better. Why would he be a good assitant coach? Clearly he had good personal drive to be better, and maybe that will rub off on other players, but I just don't see him as a good big man coach. Isn't that what Herb is for anyway?

That was my point - maybe everyone else missed it. Who cares what his capacity is...he should be in NY and earn a ring here - even if its not as #33. And who knows, maybe he isnt good at teaching skillz to the bigz (look at what he was working with) but he coul dbe a good coach.

seeing patrick ewing as any type of knicks coach would be disgusting, well even more disgusting than it already is. apparantly, his whining began all of this insanity and now you mean to tell me you would come back to the garden as an assistant. and layden you would welcome it.

okay then why did you leave.

Are you freaking kidding me. what kind of statement is that? Pat Made the knicks for 15 years. If it wasn't for Pat you wouldn't even care about the knicks to write about them. His "Whinning" save it man if you do recall the media would give it to Pat every year and he would never disgrace any of his players. He would go to work every season and give us all he had to the point in which he couldn't even walk in the 99 finals. do sit here and blame pat for the situation the the knicks are in because of him. Pat made the knicks one of the must see game against the bull, heat, pacers, rockets, orlando(Shaq), spurs. Come on if you are trying to blame pat for not winning a ring lets see who bet him Jordan(best player ever), the Dream(starks went crazy that final can't score if the ball doesn't make it to you,and the dream also beat shaq), tim duncan/d rob( the twin tower get real tim takes it to everyone and d rob is a bonus. please it makes me sick when people forget made the knicks contenders for 15 years and as soon a things go bad you turn around and back stab the work horse. Lets be for real there is nothing i would change about drafting Pat. I live in New Jersey and I still know whats up. Pat made a die hard fan of me and many more. (its called heart, even when the chips are stacked against you, you still fight.) that equals Patrick Ewing

Armondaone ...d amn bro you act like i "smacked" the man wife or something. all i said was that it would be disgusting, personally for me to see him back on the knicks bench knowing that his "if i can't get my way attitude" triggered the new york knicks downfall. of course i remember the things he did and the new york knicks did but let it be known he got real selfish at the end.

you act like i shot a president or something.

Well I say the past is the past, and I would love to see him back in NY in some capacity because he brings some life to this team.

I was not trying to jump on you but when you said " whinnig" it set something off. I know it got ugly at the end with pat but come on it like i said mangt.forgot who got them to that level of play and pat just wanted the respect he deserved. Mangt. killed the knicks not pat.

Sorry for Jumping at you. Prodson

Nothing would make me happier than to see the Knicks win a championship period. Not just Ewing I think we fans need it more than they do because they walk out with Millions and we spend thousands on them.

Why do we have to bring anyone back enough already. Why can't the fans just rememer them for the play they gave us and move on. I don't want Ewing back I don't want Starks back or Oakley or what have you it time to move in another direction. They had their chance to get a championship to NYK now it time we tried some other coaches and players. I think the fans get to emotionally tied to the team and players that brought them memories and they automatically want them back to get those memories back well it doesn't work like that. Lets move on people there are more qualified individuals out there that would help the team more.

All I ask for is Ewing as an assistant coach, I dont care about starks or oak being coaches on this team and I dont think they would be any good at it. However Patrick seems fit to be coaching material and its worth giving him a shot with this organization - especially if he ends up being a good coach.
