Is nobody else sad 2 see this guy go??? If this was last summer this board would be in a total uproar... Channing had a bad year but he is going to be a very good pro. I will miss his professionalism and his great attitude.. I really hate this deal btw overall zach randolph makes zero sense for our team
frye is too soft for the nba
frye will be an allstar
frye will be a 16/8 solid role player

He will be a solid pro but allstar - very unlikely
His problem - he is too long a big for SG
Out West he can find his game and his coach.
I wish him luck.

I'll say Channing is a solid 14/6.
If he became the focal point of an offense somewhere, he could probably produce nicely, but I think he'll share the mid range J role with Aldridge.

The more time I have to think about it, the more I'm starting to come around on this trade. Watching video of Randolph's jumper is making things a hell of a lot easier on me.

Choice 2 and 3 were too close and way far apart from choice 1. I think Channing will be a solid backup center in the league.

Channing could be a solid starting PF/C in the NBA. Maybe he'd even be capable of a 20/10 career year, if he can get minutes and touches. With that said, he'd be much more likely to become a 13/6 type of player as a 3rd/4th option on a team.

On Portland, however, you'd think that he's on their chart as their #3 big man behind Aldridge and Oden. Frye is solid enough, but I highly doubt this will be his last team. I'd imagine he'll put up good numbers in limited minutes and do enough to get him the MLE or more.

Good trading piece. After all, the Knicks managed to pick up a 20-10 player just entering his prime for him.

To be honest, though, I think he's got more skill/upside than a player like David West, who's been putting up pretty solid numbers two years running. It's a matter of Channing finding the right fit on a team that wants to commit to him as their prime big-man scorer.

I like Frye, but I think I like what we got in exchange for him better.

I wish we had more options. It was hard choosing between too soft and 16/8. I think he will be a 12/6 guy.

I like Frye alot. I think he will have a good, long career. I also think he might do better playing as a center. I do not think he would have ever achieved his potential playing next to Eddy Curry.

Channing has aldridge and oden to play with. Oden is bill Russell. He won't be a major threat to score though he probably could turn into a dominant threat eventually. Will channing blame oden and how the coaching staff use him for totally not bringing his testicles to work everynight?

Channing should be able to do what Troy Murphy did in gs. Channing should be able to do 15/8 and better. He just has to embrace that spot up shooter role, and develop some dribble moves to add some type of deception to his game.

This is the last time I'm talking about this clown. If it wasn't for oden I wouldnt have to see him play again.

Damn. He is already a journeyman. This guy has the game to be an all-star. I am going to miss his goofy face. I wish we could have move Jerome James instead of Channing. I liked the trio even Nate's crazy ass.

Not with Aldbridge and Oden son. He'll be right where he blongs. Getting 25-30 minutes off the bench as a probable backup center. Good luck to Channing. Now he'll work for a team that's actually telling him what he's doing wrong when he needs to know.

Frye was the second coming of Charles Smith.

I think he will be a good roleplayer. He needs to deal with the double team better before he can become a higher caliber player. That said, I liked him as a player and wish he became the player in NY that we saw glimpses of his rookie year. Perhaps those Tim Duncan comparisons were premature... time will tell...

No. Charles Smith was actually a good starting player (although very soft). Channing just sucked in his second year in NY and will be a career backup.

That being said, Channing is a good guy, so I wish him well.
