Players that were traded can't be traded for a few months, I believe, but what if Isiah made the Zach trade as a prelude to an even bigger trade? Keeping in mind that L.A. will never get back equal value for Kobe and if Kobe keeps his demand for a trade, then L.A. has to accept the best deal out there with probably two teams (Chi & NY). Also keeping in mind that Chicago doesn't seem willing to break up their team... what if NY offers this.

Including players already traded....

Portland Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Zach Randolph
Fred Jones
Dan Dickau

Incoming
Steve Francis
Channing Frye

L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Kobe Bryant
Vladimir Radmanovic
Incoming
Zach Randolph
Fred Jones
Dan Dickau
Jamal Crawford
Renaldo Balkman
Nate Robinson

New York Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Steve Francis
Jamal Crawford
Channing Frye
Renaldo Balkman
Nate Robinson
Incoming
Kobe Bryant
Vladimir Radmanovic

Successful Scenario
Due to Portland, L.A. Lakers, and New York being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Portland, L.A. Lakers, and New York had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Jones and Dickau are expiring contracts so L.A. gets some relief by ridding themselves of Radmonovic's salary. Crawford, Zach, Balkman & Nate bring back scoring, rebounding and also passion to replace Kobe. Also, Nate brings energy which should keep the stadium rocking!
Odom, Zach, Bynum, Crawford, Farmar starting with Nate, Critterion, Bman, Brown/Cook, Turiaf, Evans rounding out the rotation is not a bad team. The front court, if Bynum continues to develop, is really nice! If JCraw and Farmar develop cohesiveness along with Critterion, then the bcourt is decent. And don't forget about the energy Nate and Bman provide. The question is: is it enough for L.A. ?

NY meanwhile has this:
Steph - Collins
Kobe - QRich
Curry - Morris
Lee - Radmon/Rose
Jeffr - Qrich/Chandler

With James, Nichols, Cato rounding out the roster

too much for kobe.

I think you may be assigning too much value to lee.

We would be depending too much on Qrich and his bad back.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

theres no such thing as "too much for kobe" - give them any combination of any players we have.

exactly... but i don't see why the Lakers would want to take on all that salary in the process... they'll want young players they can build around with manageable deals... replace Zach w/Curry & throw in D Lee & you have a package that the Lakers might be interested in IMO... they can pair Bynum & Curry in their frontcourt & build around those 2 kids for the next several years... of course, this will all depend on whether or not Kobe pushes a trade to NY, which i think is highly possible the longer this whole thing festers.

I would give them Curry, Crawford, Nate, Balkman (or Chandler) and next year pick.
