It's never going to happen, were never going to get a super star through the draft, and Zach and cury can be move if they don't pan out. Both players are relatively young with a ton of upside.

I'm not sure what the big fuss is all about, we essentially are going to have the best front court in the league, how could they ever double and triple team anyone of them.

You could count on your fingers the amount of true defensive players we have in this league. And with the rules the way they are, this league has made it impossible to have he type of players like oak, starks, greg and mason. Its team defense that matters the most and being able to adjust to whatever style that your playing against.

We have been buying out contracts for for the last few years, what has it gotten us..Even when we had cap space and we sign Houston, LJ, spree, Chris childs, we got a trip to the finals ( whip dee doo)..been there done that..Even when we were considered the best damn defensive team in the league what did that get us, a trip to the finals...

We had a franchise player for 15 years, just like UTah with malone, mini with KG, it's not lock guys even when u have the talant. I belive Luck plays a part in every success story.

JVG had 2 franchise players with Ming n Tracy Plus he has a defense first philosphy. Give me a break...The bottom line is it's all about CHEMISTRY, CHEMISTRY, CHEMISTRY..amongst other things.

lol... isn't that the goal we should be targeting every year?

with a franchise player we made it to 2 NBA Finals... we haven't come close to making it there again ever since... think we could use a franchise calibre player on this team? i do... fine, Ewing was a shadow of his former self in '99, but the fact remains we put together a contender by using cap space to sign some free agents that helped take us to the next level... just how far do you think the addition of Randolph is taking this team? So making the finals is unimportant to you because we've been there & done that? Then what's your ultimate goal for this franchise that you think the addition of Zach is going to help us achieve? You think he's bringing a championship with him, or that he's going to be a major piece in helping this team win one anytime in the distant future?

Come on man!!!
You know that Zach is here to entertain the publick, press, and make Knicks somehow significant. I am not sure that this will work but it can.

The whole point of cap space is to have the money to land good and/or great players. If you have a good team which you've built thru the draft and you want to get to that next level cap space can be very useful, but only if there are worthwhile FA's to sign and if they want to come to your team over their current one.

In our case there was some compelling reasons for wanting to get under the cap in 2 years of so, but that wouldn't guarantee anything. Much more we'd have to do next to nothing to improve the roster for 2 years. The only way that would make sense is if you couldn't get a player that could help you win this year. If that's the case then you just stand pat. Isiah feels that Zach will help give this team a chance to win. He's a direct replacement for Frye so it all makes sense. Frye was the only draft pick that seemed to be having trouble fitting in and Zach is a better player for us. The plan originally included Frye and now it doesn't. The team is still the same with only that change. Adding 2 more talented Picks this year in addition to Morris, it's clear Isiah has done the major work of filling out the roster with the draft. With this much talent he stands a better chance of making a TRADE over standing pat for 2 years and praying he can sign a FA outright. I can understand his reasoning.

IT reasoning is to stay put for 4 years not 2. his contract is 4 years not 2. Isn't it?
So Zack has 4 years left too. You right. It makes perfect sence from IT point of view
