The Blazers were desperate to get rid of Randolph, whose career in Portland was marked by prolific offense and a prolific amount of brushes with the law that included an arrest for possession of a firearm. His record dates to high school days with reports of shoplifting, battery and receiving stolen property.

The Blazers plan to buy out Francis, who wanted to be released by the Knicks. His departure is addition by subtraction. The failed Francis deal in February, 2006, was Isiah’s last trade. Francis has two years and $33 million left on his pact.

Thomas declined to talk to reporters because the league had not officially approved the trade. He will speak today.

Reached late last night, Stephon Marbury was ecstatic by the deal, realizing their offensive potential.

“It’s finally happening,” Marbury said. “It’s finally happening. God’s plan is working.”

Why is there so much passionate hate when it comes to Marbury...even when he has a good year and engages in philanthropic endeavors he still gets ripped around here. What the hell is going on?

Naw, it seems like you dont understand, B.

I invoke the charitable contributions angle, because it seems like no matter what this kid does, there is going to be a negative angle extracted from it. Its a consistent theme around here.

This quote is no different than people thanking god for every and everything. If he really likes Randolph and believes in the trade, so be it.
