Knicks could announce the waiving of these guys before the end of the day for all I know.

Still dickau is not a bum/bust. The guy is still only 28. He showed some great signs in Boston and Charlotte. In Boston I think he might have torn his acl. He was looking like he could have been a starter there. Same with the hornets. He keeps getting chucked.

He is a deadeye shooter. He is also a nice change of pace slasher that can make the pass. He has some Steve nash in him. Not saying he will be a 2 time MVP. I'm just saying he has some physical similarities. Their games are kinda similiar too. Also right of the bat, he is the knicks second best point guard behind marbs. If anything I think he will make mardy sweat.

Fred Jones is a guy that was good enough to be a 6th man candidate in Indiana, and get a decent starters payday in Toronto. The guy is a finisher, and a defender. He can hit the 3 at times. Still, isn't he the type of big defender that everyone wanted at the 2? He could be a nice change of pace behind craw. He will fly on you and he will play physical defense.

Can these guys fit in on the knicks?

I bet Jones is still on the team though he is a short 2.

Dickau stinks. He had a good year two year ago but now he stinks. I think he'll be bought out.

Or he keeps both and uses the 6 mil in expiring contracts to acquire a player.

Fred Jones is a player that Isiah likes. I'm sure he is not going anywhere.

He is a deadeye shooter.

Dan Dickau shot 39.6% from the field and 34.3% from 3-point land for his career. He actually shot 26.2% on 3-pointers last season, a lousy 35.2% overall.
Not my mental picture of a deadeye shooter...

Demetris Nichols, on the other hand, shot 47% from the field, 42% on college threes. Sounds more like it...

Actually lets think about this. The Knicks are also 2 players over the limit. Dickau+Jones+another player in a 3 for 1 deal?

I don't doubt that Isiah has other moves he'd like to pursue that could involve these guys, but Fred Jones is one guy who Isiah had a lot of input on in Indy, who is also considered a dark spot on Isiah's drafting record. Knowing Isiah's ego and penchant for trying to reclaim projects I think he's going to try very hard to keep him, possibly at the expensive of Nate.

Why preferential treatment of Jones over Nate? Higher draft selection, the little buddy network between Frye, Nate and Lee has already been busted up, and with Zach on board Nate's distractions will be beyond intolerable.

Dan dickau may not have the stats but if he did he wouldn't have been traded so much. I caught him a couple times when he had gotten some big minutes and he looked great. I give guys the benifit of the doubt. He has the ability to play the NBA game. He could very well suit up as a steady back up to marbs. Mardy still has that crown but if dickau sticks he would have to sweat a little more.

With all this, what happens to Nate? Cuz I like the idea of having Fred Jones backing up craw. I also would rather see mardy or dickau get nates minutes.

i watched fred jones alot last season with toronto. their offense was based on ball movement and jump shooting. everyone had good seasons except jones. he wasn't able to knock down open jumpers. so they benched him and then moved him for juan dixon. so if we're looking for a jump shooter, fred jones is not that guy.

he is athletic, can somewhat stay in front of his man, and he has crazy hops. i wouldn't expect him to play more than 15 mins a night if he's still here.

In short, Fred Jones as craws back up and Dan dickau as the 3rd point or even marbs primary backup. How does that sound?
