The New Jersey Nets delivered a proposal of Richard Jefferson, Nenad Krstic and Jason Collins to the Pacers for Jermaine O'Neal, multiple league sources said Thursday. Krstic is rehabilitating a torn ACL suffered early last season, but is expected to be back for the start of the season. There isn't any draft day urgency to the deal because no picks are involved, so if the scenario does advance, sources expect it would not happen until July.

• The Portland Trail Blazers and New York Knicks have had serious discussions about a trade that would send Zach Randolph and Martell Webster to the Knicks for Steve Francis and Channing Frye. Other parts have been included in proposals, but all combinations include Randolph.

On both...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Interesting. If there's anything to it, I think the other parts would favor Portland, since Randolph + Webster are probably worth more than Francis + Frye.

also espn reported that the blazers want malik rose instead of francis - 20 million less in contracts.

i think if we get randolph, we're stuck with him. and he plays NO defense.

This is some insane stuff.

I can't wait till the first wave of deals go down. I net this is all league office stuff to get people excited about the draft.

Ya I hope there's a ton of trades.

Zach plays a LOT in the mid post area and he also likes to shoot from outside too. He's not just a post up player. He's versatile enough to be effective even playing alongside Curry. I'm not saying that i'd want that deal, but I could see it working OK. Most of the good PF's in this league are gonna be able to post and also shoot a bit from 15-20 feet. The guy is a flat out beast and lock for 20-10. He's not just limited to the post tho.

NO NO NO! Eddy Curry has no defense so we MUST put a player beside him that does have defense. Not his twin brother.

Is Zach a worse defender than Frye?? He is clearly much better offensively than him. Maybe Zeke sees having Zach and Curry together, he will dominate the low post for a full 48. I think Frye just didn't fit with Curry either. And zach is still fairly young isn't he? What if we get a sign and trade for gerald Wallace? or Rashard Lewis? I think there will be more moves to come.
