Sam Smith:

The further complication reportedly has been the demands of Yi and Noah, or perhaps their agents. Both evidently have sent word to several teams in the top 10 that they didn't want to play in their cities. The teams generally have been ignoring the warnings. A player's option if he declines to report is to sit out one full year and not play basketball anywhere for any team and then go back in the draft. If he plays anywhere in the world, the team that drafted him would continue to hold his rights.

The demands once again are raising questions, particularly about Noah being a spoiled rich kid who goes his own way. Rarely in the history of the NBA have players from wealthy families had any success or proved to be committed workers, though Bill Laimbeer was an exception. But Noah has wide appeal.

I think Noah is gonna be frustrated in the Association AND STAY IN FOUL TROUBLE.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Does seldom mean everybody to you ????

Kobe also grew up over seas and in highschool came to play ball at lower merion highschool. Very Unique situation from american NBA player.

He was picked 30 in the draft and If Isiah wasn't picking he would have went in the 2nd rd.

I believe the article was referring to high picks in the draft = no hunger

You know- I don't blame him if there are certain cities he would rather not play for. There is something very communistic about the draft- how players have to go to certain places.

Kobe didn't want to play for Charolotte- I think they were the ones that drafted him- and he was out of HS.

David Robinsons family was not poor at all. His dad was an engineer after he retired from the Navy. David Lee was taken #30 and Bill Laimbeer was taken #21. Whats the difference?

I thought it was about coming from families that were well off. David Lees family is loaded.

This claim may be true, but tough to buy into it without some sort of statistics or study.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
