Posted by arkrud:don't know. never seen the kid play so i won't claim him something i have no evidence of. all i know is that Isiah wants a young project that can work on his game with NBA talent and get into the rotation in 2 years. some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

This guys a joke and I'm going to be livid if Isiah takes a low 2nd rounder with this pick.
If he wants to take a chance on a guy thats 2 years away- why not go after that Bellini kid? He looks incredible from what I've seen. clydesofly.com

I wasnt happy about it- no. We needed a guy like Balkman with Ariza in Orlando so I can understand why he targetted a guy like that.
I cannot understand what Isiah plans to do with this chandler kid. We need a shooter. We have a log jam of forwards who cant shoot- why do we need another one. clydesofly.com

Posted by sbensol74:whoever Isiah drafts won't get any playing time. let's say Isiah drafts Almond, he won't get any playing over Richardson, Marbury, Robinson, Collins, and Francis(although he may be waived). any position player Isiah gets is gonna have a big clutter. so Isiah getting Chandler who just turned 20 will be a project that Isiah invisions to help the team in 2 years from now. IMO i think whoever he gets will get send down in the NBDL to play and gain experience instead of rotting on the bench. some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

I havent really seen the kid play that much so excuse me if I'm talking out of my *** but... From what I've seen and read on the internet there are a handful of players who have more potential than chandler and if Isiah is drafting on 2-3 year potential scale why not go after Sean Williams or Bellini or even Splitter???
In my mind this is Isiah giving special treatment to another Chicago guy and its getting old. clydesofly.com

Posted by sbensol74: The very high-upside Chandler presents us with a bit of a dillema, in that he has always most productive using is explosiveness and length around the basket but his upside comes in brilliant flashes of midrange shot creating ability. Chandler struggled a season ago because he relied too much on his inconsistent perimeter game, and failed to translate his immense natural gifts into on-court production. A player with Chandler's combination of size, athleticism, and finishing instincts should never shoot the 43.6% from the field that he did a season ago. This year, Chandler is showing some major improvement as far as his transition to the wing goes. His perimeter jumper has gone from inconsistent at best to downright dangerous (21.1% from 3 a season ago, 40.5% this year), and he is getting behind the defense for acrobatic, highlight reel finishes on a regular basis. His combination of size and leaping ability is quite formidable, and not many wing prospects can match Chandler's athletic tools at the college level. Interesting this was from Draftexpress.com weekly December 20, 2006. I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni
