Memphis Have Eyes On Young Frontcourt Player With Large Contract?
June 26, 2007 - 7:05 pm
Commercial Appeal -

Jerry West has reportedly told confidants that the Grizzlies have their eyes set on an established and young frontline player with a large contract. That player would be "great" alongside Pau Gasol.

Two possibilities are Zach Randolph and Nene.

That would be interesting. I think Denver is more interested in trading Camby (age, injurys, contract) than Nene. Randolph sounds plausible.

I dont think its ideal but it could still work. Pau is more a slasher than a power post guy. Zach is more a power player from 10 feet out and in. Both rebound. Pau gives you some blocks. Add Gay's athleticism in there and Warrick off the bench for a legit mix of young front liners.

By the way Randolph is not as good as his stats but he is pretty under rated by the masses in part due to his baggage and the Blazers history. Zach brings a lot of good things to the table but they get over shaddowed by some bad.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Diaw?
Sheed?
Villanueva?

You have to wonder who West would call "Established"

That is a whole different list than say, Isiah might call "Established"
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
