Wow talk about an international team

According to Mitch Lawrence
The Bucks are willing to re-sign PG Maurice Williams, a free agent, at $7 million to $8 million per, but he's looking for a starting number of around $9 million to $10 million. If they can't reach a deal, they're open to moving Williams in a sign-and-trade. ... Toronto has been trying to find backup PG Jose Calderon a new home. Once free agency starts, the Raptors have their mid-level exception set aside for Golden State's Mickael Pietrus, who could start for them next season at small forward

Them trying to move Calderon is news to me.

i heard about the pietrus scenario. i think he's somewhat underrated 49 fg%, 39 3fg% this past season and a very good defender. (44 fg%, 35 3fg% career)

signing him for the MLE would be a fantastic move for the raptors. i hear they are looking at outlaw as well. colangelo said he has a SF he's targeting, but he's restricted so they have to convince him to come over. pietrus fits that description.

the calderon trade stuff is unsubstantiated. calderon tho, is a free agent after next season so any team that will trade for him would want to make sure he signs an extension. i would love to ship calderon to atlanta for childress + #11 or for marvin williams but with tj ford not being the most durable pg in the league, having calderon is more a necessity than a luxury.

the raptors tho, also own the rights to 2nd round draft pick roko ukic who's a young budding pg in europe. or maybe they'll sign papaloukas to allow them to move calderon.

They're an example of a very well run organization. Collangelo's first MLE signing would be better than any of Isiah's THREE so far.

That's if Golden State doesn't match. I think Pietrus has Gerald Wallace type athleticism/potential.

It pays to have a gm with a definitive plan.

It pays to have the commissioner of the NBA guarantee you the #1 overall pick before you decide to go be the GM of a team in Canada who's already international friendly and being the commish you want the league to go GLOBAL.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Boy you sure did pick a good team to be a fan of.

Oh yeah, remember that idiotic "Who else is out there that's better?" question that people like misterearl would inevitably ask when someone would suggest that Isiah should be fired? Well I think Colangelo was out there and I'm pretty sure that he's a hell of a lot better than Isiah.

bargnani wasn't the consensus overall #1 pick. he would've been at #3 if the raptors were picking there.

What's your evidence that there was anything illegitimate about the draft lotto?

If there were, Oden and Durant wouldn't both be headed to the upper northwest.

fun team to watch b/c of the uniqueness of it.

colangelo knew he had some financial restraints. so he went after better "bang for the buck" players. he is entrenched in euro basketball so he knows where to find them. he sees the city as an international one, and brought in maurizio gherardini as his assistant gm (he's known as the godfather of european basketball). and they ran with it. will it result in a title? depends how good bosh/bargnani can become but colangelo again is revolutionary to his team building approach.
