Oden or Durant. I say Durant. Oden is missing something. I can't quite put my finger on it. I know he has comparisons to Tim Duncan but Tim Duncan had the fundamentals downpat as soon as he came to the NBA. He doesn't have the energy of a Mourning or the passion of a Mutumbo or Ewing. I think he will be a decent player but not a game changer. Portland would be a good fit because Roy is going to be a star, so they can have that Kobe and Shaq type team. Hopefully Oden does not end up like Olowakandi.
Durant will sell tickets and be very exciting. I see him averaging 20ppg next yr easily. On the Sonics he would have a bonafide star in Ray Allen as a mentor. I think he can get a chip before Oden does.

when I look at the two I see Oden being like dwight howard after some experience in the nba and Durant being like Joe Johnson when he has more experience

Oden is going to be good. I would think he would at least be on a Dwight Howard or Okeafor level. It is a tough choice, but I would probably take Oden over Durant if I had Roy. Portland's other option is to resign Magloire and make a trade with Seattle to move down one spot. Seattle would love Oden. They could then resign Lewis and pretty much be set at the 1-5 spots.

Durant will put up better numbers, eventually being a top 5 scorer in the league.
Oden will win a lot more.
It will be subjective as to who had the better career.
