Anyone have a fave store to shop in NYC for clothing?

I was at Barneys today, and I think I like it more than Bloomies

No Nordstrom in the city, which kinda sucks.

rofl ;-)

Actually at Barney's Co-op, there were some good deals on jeans -

I got some 7s for 69$ reduced from $176

They had N.D.C. (handmade shoes) for under $200

Some awesome shirts from $160 to $59 - and these shirts were much better than anything I've gotten at Bloomies before - just my opinion

Place was a little chaotic, but par for the course.

I'm really into buying $10 clothing. The last time I went out I had on a $65 outfit. The shoes were Steve maddens $40. I'm a cheap bastard. I used to like to spend money on clothes. Now I'm about a step away from going to the salvation army or searching through garbage bins for the best deals.

What kind of clothes are you trying to buy? Casual? Work Clothes? Clothes to go out?

For work clothes Century 21 downtown on Cortland Street...

Century 21 is the devils store. Its a mad house in there. People say they catch good deals on cool stuff but I never see anything when I go.

Burlington coat factory has some crackhead suprises sometimes.

Filienes basement is a good spot too.

Most of those types of stores you are bound to find something there that makes you feel like you beat the system.

IF you need a suit Century 21 is your store. They got some big names there for half the price you normally see. It's a little tough to go there for everyday clothes though. If you just got a nice new job and you need to pump up your wardrobe that is the place too go though.

Old Navy....even though old navy is own by the GAP. The material seem to last longer than GAP and cheaper too. I also like TJ Max they definately have everything.

Old navy is always taking my money. They make better clothes than the gap now. By the way, who still shops at the gap?

Gap is getting squeezed out. Better stuff at Old Navy or Banana republic.

The GAP is a pile of trash store that's good for nothing except for allowing my dog to come in and poop on.
