Everyone is talking about how awesome he is and how he would have been a lottery if he didn't get suspended. Ok what is stopping anyone from taking him? A team like Detroit could take him. Gs, etc.

What do you guys think? Could this pot head get into the lottery or at least higher than projected?

There are more skilled players without the questions about their character that teams will take a chance on. The way he and his agent have handled his predraft schedule so far is making GM's mad. He's making teams come to him in houston and he's not been dealing with the pot issue. So far he hasn't taken a physical etc. He's almost tailor made for the Knicks tho. I don't know if Isiah would take him, but he fits a big need for this team and we could solve our Shooting needs with an NBA vet via trade or even MLE if necessary.

At first I saw him getting drafting high (and he still might) but now I think he might fall a bit because of the Artests and Pacman Jones' of the world. No team wants negative media attention. Maybe he wont bring that and maybe he changes his ways, but the path troubled players of the past made for him doesn't lead to a high draft pick.

Charles Oakley said that 70% of the league gets high.

Williams will fit right in.

You "politically correct" dudes kill me. If the Knicks took Williams, you wouldn't care if he smoked purp or homegrown.

Stop frontin' dawg

He has really treated the pre draft process like he owns it. He could go mid first round or not even get drafted. Just depends on how many gms he has pissed off. Reminds me of Eddie Griffin coming out but with even a much worse attitude.

You think? Its possible although I think its just as possible he goes in the 2nd round. There have been other great shot blockers that didnt even get drafted. Who is that guy on the Kings from last season

Yeah, Justin Williams from Wyoming - you're right Cos. I still can't believe we wasted our time giving guys like Kenny Adeleke, Paul Miller and Franko Kastropil (who??? - exactly) looks last summer and didn't jump all over this kid with an invite when the draft was over. I was seriously thinking about us taking him at #29 last year. Whatever...

I think there's something up with Sean Williams not doing any private workouts. Either he got a straight up guarantee from someone (probable) or maybe some team has worked out something crazy with his agent to make it appear that he's still not in the proper frame of mind mentally for the NBA by forgoing the private team workouts in the hopes that he'll scare off enough teams and then slip to their spot. IOW, maybe Isiah said something like, "listen, if x, y & z are going then we'll take him." (highly unlikely - a big gamble on his part - but possible).

Is there a chance, I would say like less then 10 percent. Justins Williams was skinny and played at a small time school. Sean Williams is coming from the big east, is the biggest of the athletic big men hieght 6/10 and weight 235/240 wise after Oden. The Wizards, Nets, Sixers, Bobcats, Heat can't all pass on him, because Seans upside is that he can be a NBA Center.

No' man can be a center at 6'-10". He can be a quick back-up, but a full timer? No, can't happen, if you want dominance and consistency. Now if you say Ben Wallace, then I say 'how often would that' happen?
I'll never trust this' team again.

You can come up with a list of the greatest centers of all time and about half of them are 6'10.
Ewing
hakeem
Russell
Mikan
Moses Malone
Thurman
Unseld

Those are the guys after you pick Wilt,Shaq,Kareem,Robinson,Walton and they aren't 7'footers.

Sean Williams was not a good rebounder in college, had the drug issues, has screwed around nba gms for weeks, and some say he hasnt even taken an nba physical. If he doesnt have a solid guarantee from an nba team I could easily see him falling to the 2nd round.

uh, Ewing and Hakeem were 7'. And the others you listed, those are some of the 'rare' ones. But my wording for rare one's was 'how often would that happen'. I know it's not impossible, but highly improbable. I'm still not for calling him a center. No one knew how Ben would fair and he turned into a surprise.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Ewing and Hakeem were not 7footers. You don't have to be seven Feet to be a Center. 6'10 is tall enough. Mourning isn't 7foot, Stoudimare isn't 7foot, Ben wallace isn't, who ever plays center for the pistons isn't, Kendrick Perkins isn't. And their are alot of other guys I could prove they aren't 7foot, because the NBA lies about heights, like they lied about Ewings. Is Jamaal Maglorie really 6-11, nope. Mehert Okur, barely taller then a 6-8 Boozer but listed a full three inches taller... nope.

More than height goes in to playing any position including center.

Exactly.

Williams might be the second best Center Prospect behind Oden. I said Center, there are alot of 7foot or 6-11 Power Forwards in this draft, but only about 5 centers. I don't think Sean is going to fall because he is Big and fast. Even if you didn't work him out privately, most teams need that.

You could be 100% right. Time will tell but based on his attitude I would not be shocked to see him fall a lot
