in bill simmons latest podcast, ric bucher said the following:

- there is 0% chance kobe will be a laker next season.

- kobe will continue to turn the heat up until he gets moved and if he doesn't get moved, kobe will sit out next season.

- kupchak is basically taking the brunt of everything when it's really buss, who wants his son to take over the team.

- it was reinsdorf that signed ben wallace (with his agent arn tellem), it wasn't paxson that went after him.

yup, just heard him say all that on the Dan Patrick show... also mentioned that Kobe going to Phoenix has very little chance of happening.

CHI or NYK are the only options for the Lakers

Hardy Har Har Har!

Let Me guess you have a flower in your hand picking the pedals off saying "Kobe goes to Chicago, Kobe goes to New York".

In the words of Bill Plaschke "Kobe's Just Not That In To Us"!

Kobe in a Knicks Jersey? Its too good to be true. It just doesn't sound right. Plus can he handle N.Y.? This isn't Hollywood, the media is really going to get up in his ass.

The Lakers will rape the Knicks in any deal for him, setting us back in our youth movement. But...If Kobe does come to the Knicks then I dont want to see Frantrash still here.

Kobe is Great but he is not MJ and that is what I think alot of posters think he is.

Kobe = 20 more wins! Championship?

If he does not bring a championship to New York he will be regarded as none other than Shaq's little helper.

We could give Grant Hill the midlevel exception if we were sending them frye, nate, lee, morris, balkman and our pick....

Marbury
Kobe
Hill/Richardson
Jefferies/Rose
Curry

Thats enough to get out of the east

couple things-

first- using the word rape in describing a trade usually isn't a bad thing- but with kobe, takes on a whole different meaning.

The only way we get screwed on a kobe deal is if Isiah allows it to happen.

If Kobe wants out and will sit out unless, then the lakers have almost no leverage.

Of course, Isiah has traded two unrestricted lotto picks for curry in a similar circumstance.

I would offer Francis, Frye & this year's pick- perhaps Nate or Crawford.

And I wouldn't budge until the last hour, and then I'd look to include Lee in place of Frye- but I'd look to toss them one of our bad contracts- like JJ1 or 2

See thats good but Zeke doesnt think like that. He will trade Balkman, Lee, Mardy, Crawford, future unprotected first rounders to 2020 and Curry for Kobe And Radmon

If they decided it couldn't be salvaged and their weren't great packages out there i think your looking at Marbury, Frye, Lee, Balkman, pick #23 and Nate which isn't a bad package considering they don't tak on bad contracts and Marbury is up at the same time

Outgoing
Kobe Bryant
6-6 SG from Lower Merion (HS)
31.6 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.4 apg in 40.8 minutes
Vladimir Radmanovic
6-10 PF from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign)
6.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 18.0 minutes
Incoming
Stephon Marbury
6-2 PG from Georgia Tech
16.4 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 5.5 apg in 37.2 minutes
Channing Frye
6-11 PF from Arizona
9.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 26.4 minutes
Renaldo Balkman
6-7 SF from South Carolina
4.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 15.7 minutes
Nate Robinson
5-9 PG from Washington
10.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 21.2 minutes
David Lee
6-9 SF from Florida
10.7 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 1.8 apg in 29.8 minutes

Knicks

Crawford/Francis
Kobe/Collins
Q
Jefferies/Rose
Curry

Lakers

Marbury/Farmer
Evans
Walton/Balkman
Odom/Lee
Bynum/Frye

I think thats the only deal that is possible they clear a bad contract have a couple of young guys, marbury is a name and they can package some other pieces maybe to get a ron artest or something else

Kobe is going to gut out any roster that trades for him unless it's super star for super star, but Of course most of us know this already. But having kobe will instantly turn Curry into a bonifde allstar and steph is better then any pg Kobe has ever played with. IT will all so that leave this team with little depth ( which is crucial no matter how you look a it) no lagit pf.

On the other hand it won't take a lot to fill the role simple because a Vet like webber would easily sign for the Vet min. as as a matter of fact, it won't be hard to find any body who sign for much less if your going to be playing with a top pg, a top C, and arguable the best player on the planet.

I wonder how realistic is Chicago. I mean Deng, Gordon and Thomas only account for half of Bryant's salary. Ben Wallace and Thomas, and picks is probably Chicago's most realistic offer due to cap restrictions.

I think they have some cap room to play around with

There's rumors floating around he's telling people that he and his family are moving to Chicago.

Bucher said this probably will become a game of chicken and if the Lakers stall too long they'll lose out big time on this issue.

I don't think Kobe will get traded till the season starts. Why? Because the Lakers brass is stupid. I see him traded around December.

I also don't think Kobe has the balls to sit out but he will keep whining and "stomping his feet" till he gets his way.

LMAO over how some of you dont want to give up Lee and Balkman in a deal for KOBE. Trust me, Isiah Thomas doesn't feel the same way you guys do. He'd trade any and every player, coach and concession worker to ger him.

If you're the Lakers, do you do that deal? Hell no.
