event: the official ultimateknicks pick-up basketball game
date: saturday july 14th (rain date: saturday july 21st)
time: 430pm
location: riverside park, nyc @ 72nd street (under the west side highway)

the first official ultimateknicks pick-up basketball game is happening saturday july 14th. since it will be the dead of summer, it seems that later in the day would be better - less people at the park, flexible for those that work, etc.

currently, these are the confirmed attendees:

those that will be coming - please send me an email: djsunyc@yahoo.com

more info will come as we get closer to the date. below is a map of where the courts are.

directions: take 1,2,3 train (towards uptown & bronx) to 72nd street. walk west to the west side highway.

the park is under the westside highway. once in the park, walk until you hit the water. there are steps that lead down to it. as you go down the steps, there is a dirt track to you right and a small baseball field to the left. make a left at the bottom of the steps. you will be on a bike path. keep to your left around this rock thing and you will see the handball courts first and the courts are right there.

I have an idea.
There are courts underneath the West Side Highway in Hudson River Park that are both covered (by the highway) and not very crowded, not much used at all.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

IHOP hah! Rookie! Man, I can take you on sub sammiches, steak, pie, hell even pizza on a good day. Breakfast lunch and dinner, bring it baby.

THEN we can go and laugh at the poor UK fools playing in the heat.

Sigh. You know you need to get fit when you consider competitive eating a good workout.

This is what I have been suggesting. Its near 72nd. It really is a nice under used court. Has to be like 4 full courts. I really think this should be the place to go. No car pools needed. Just a metrocard.

yes, please find out.

the advantage of having it indoors is that we have our own court without any problems, can't blame sh t on the wind, no worries if it rains, and we can try to set up a video camera.

there's an outdoor court right outside the chelsea piers... not sure if you need to reserve it or if it's first come, first served... anyone ever play there? the courts are paved & clean & right by the water off the West Side Hwy w/hot chicks in shorts jogging by every now & then... would be a nicer setting to play in than underneath a highway i would think.
