The Rashard Lewis thing is intriguing. I am figuring he is going to make about 10-12 mil next year. Would you do

Frye, Crawford, Nate and the 23 for Rashard, the 31, and the 35?

Then with the 31 (or repackage the 31 and 35 to move up to the 25-30 range) and draft Almond (although I prefer Byars)...

Curry
Lee
Rashard
Almond/Byars
Marbury...

I am not sure I would even do it but it is an interesting scenario.

Any plan is good.
To have a plan will be already a huge progress for the Knicks

that is too much- both in money and assets- to give for a player like rashard- sorry, I don't think he is that good.

He certainly doesn't put us over the top- probably doesn't even help us get to the 8 slot

and why are we adding older guys? We should be trying to get younger and cheaper.

KG & Kobe are different- they are the kinds of guys that can get you to the play offs.

I'd disagree about not getting us into the 8th spot. The guys is good for 20/6/2 asts, all while shooting a high %. Lewis is a yeare younger than Kobe. He's certainly good enough to help us to be a solid playoff team. I do agree that you don't want to pay too much for him tho. Is Frye, JC, Nate & #23 too much? I would think you'd have to take that deal if you could get it done and there's no shot at Kobe. If we get to keep David Lee, I would think that is a major victory.

Steph, Q, Lewis, Lee and Curry looks pretty good. Of course i'd prefer Kobe or KG.

only if i could turn Rashard, D Lee & those picks around to bring in Kobe, otherwise i agree w/franco... i'm not all that crazy about the idea of bringing Rashard Lewis to NY to be honest.

The plan:

Trade Frye, JJ2, Nate & Crawford for Rashard Lewis, Chris Wilcox
Draft Marco Bellini

Curry/Morris/Snacks
Lee/Wilcox/Rose
Rashard/Balkman
Bellini/Q Rich/Francis (who I hate, but we're stuck with)
Marbury/Collins

Result: 44-38

are you nuts not getting the 8th slot. do you know how good lewis is? he has no center and pg that doesn't get him the ball enough....

I hate isiah, but if you can get lewis for that package which isn't even that good to begin with and space the floor for while holding onto lee, balkman and collins its a win win, and it vaults us into one of the better teams in the league not to mention gets rid of the excess guard rotation.....

Marbury/Collins
Q/Francis
Lewis/Balkman
Lee/Jefferies
Curry/Rose

If you allow Steph to play and do what he did while everyone was injured the team is going to be better than, Orlando, Washington, and you can include the cavs who are highly overated.

Three big scorers, three great role players, and a glue guy in q

Speaking of Q, has anybody seen or heard anything to indicate that he can be a contributor in 07-08?

I read (a while back - I don't remember where) that his doctors thought that the surgery was successful and that he should be fine.

I doubt Seattle would accept that offer.

I don't know why Knick fans seem to think Seattle is enamored with Nate and Crawford just because they're from Washington or have roots there. Seattle has had plenty of opportunity to acquire Crawford and have never once made offers to acquire him nor made any attempts to after him when he was a FA. Nate is a head case. the 23rd pick has about as little value as the 31rst or 35th pick.

The only reason a discussion may take place is because we're the Knicks who open wallets to anyone and because of Lew's agent. It won't be because Seattle is looking to acquire Crawford and Midget.
