Why in the world would the Knicks:

a) draft another unpolished small forward (with no disrespect to Balkman, who, unbeknownst to everybody with a pre-draft opinion last year....turned out to be a spectacular pick)

b) not draft a shooter (Almond, Bellini, Fernandez) or shot-blocker (Williams)

c) unnecessarily send pre-draft signals about interest in the kid (I can only hope this is a smokescreen)

1- Isiah is using a smoke screen

2- Isiah is tarnishing his draft record yet again by wasting a pick (s) - both Collins and Balkman may have went in the second round or undrafted and we could have got them via free agency

3- Isiah should have never traded for Francis because we would still have Ariza

4- Isiah is telling us we are not going after any sort of SF (Rashard) because we have an abundance of them

Personally, I would like to see Isiah make a deal on draft night using Nate and Frye to try to move as high as possible.

Zeke must see an upside in Chandler as a scorer. He's a hard player to judge based on his level of seasoning and the fact that he played for a mediocre team. Still it could just be smoke.

Don't forget about Demetris Nichols when mentioning potential shooters in the draft.

Isiah's smoke screens suck. I thought a smoke screen works better when you are threatening to draft a player alot of teams would want at the draft position. By threatening to reach on a player it defeats the purpose of the smoke screen because you are giving up your leverage.

it's possible isiah is trying to prevent a team BELOW us from moving up to take a player we want.

Pls don't even mention Nichols who has a basketball IQ lower than Steve Francis (with an intensity level in the TIM Thomas range). Talk about a remote control thru the TV scenario.

Collins/Balkman were both tremendous picks. Was it above where NBAdraft.net had them? Perhaps. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Its not like they passed on Greg Oden.

I'm happy with whoever Isiah picks. He has a pretty good track record. If it's Chandler, he could spend the year in the Developmental League. Who cares. What I want, is to trade up to get Corey Brewer. I love his game.

quentin - 3 more years
jeffries - 4 more years
balkman - 2nd year player

so we're drafting ANOTHER sf? it doesn't make sense.

honestly i wouldn't mind taking a sleeper PG - guys like taurean green, ramon sessions, bobby brown are all projected below us but it's a need and if IT decides he wants them i'm all for it.

unless there is a deal in the works to move one or more.

I believe the Mo T trade preceded the KT trade-

I say smokescreen

Did isiah last year say he was picking Balkman or Collins?

I know the year before he loved Nate and Frye was the safe pick- but no one thought Lee.

I think balkman was a planned pick. Collins was BPA and tiered according to Chad Ford's tier design.

I like Jordan too. He looks like he would be a great backup PG, with the potential to develop as a starter if his athletism and shooting are better than advertised.

^I live around Marist and Jordan is god around here. The boy can play and has very good instincts. 23 is too high I think but if Zeke can get him with a 2nd rounder it would be ideal.
